We met at a church retreat called Stronghold in 2017. Some might say that Jacob was quite clueless that Sophie was romantically interested. From there, we formed a friendship (#friendzone) and about 6 months after, we started dating each other. It was not more than 2 years into our relationship that we realized that we attended preschool together at Northminster (wow cool!). Jacob says that this is where the real love story begins.
Anyways, it is evident to us that Jesus has always been at work in our relationship, through countless memories and epic adventures. We are incredibly grateful that He has surrounded us with deep friendships, supportive family, and a community that has loved us from the beginning. We both have enjoyed fun trips together to Branson, Jacob's grandparents lake, road trips to soccer games, Chicago, Tennessee, and many others. Over the 6 years we have been together, we have supported each other through many challenges. We said goodbye for Jacob's basic training and tech school, leaving for college, family losses, and more. We have witnessed good and hard things come our way, but they have always been characterized by the work of Jesus that was made known to us. Our desire to follow Jesus faithfully has led us to where we are today, and we would be lost without each other, but so much more lost without Him.
In early 2022, we decided that it was time for our relationship to take the next step. We adopted a small cat named Luna. We subsequently decided that caring for one cat was too easy, so we got a larger orange cat, named Milo. Okay, that was an exaggeration. We actually took the next step together when Jacob asked Sophie to marry him on March 18, 2023 at Garfield Park Conservatory. Since you are reading this, she said yes!
We could not be more excited for what Jesus has for us next.
We can't wait to spend our wedding day with you.
