Downtown Park Rapids, MN is one of Megan's favorite downtowns, ever. There are great shops and boutiques that you could spend all afternoon exploring. Not to mention an old fashioned candy store and TWO bookstores.

As you are traveling east from Detroit Lakes to Park Rapids on highway 34, there is a small "public restroom" stoping point and parking lot. More importantly, this is also a trail head for the Smoky Hills State Forest.
