Our Wedding

In September 2019 Spencer and Ethan met at a brunch with their mutual friends. Spencer thought Ethan was loud and funny and Ethan thought Spencer was bubbly and beautiful. After the brunch, the group of friends took a stroll through the farmers market and down to the pier, and when the lovely morning was finished they all went their separate ways. It was from that simple Sunday morning that a quiet curiosity would sprout within each of their minds. Weeks passed until they finally met again in a dingy bar downtown. Spencer, in her boldest form that evening, decided she would bite the bullet and make the first move. Their first date was soon after, the two went bar hopping around Olympia enjoying drinks and laughing together until late in the evening. Spencer was taken aback by how many friends Ethan had in their town, it seemed like everyone knew him, and everyone loved him. He recalled stories to her of times he shared with each and every person. She knew immediately that he was someone who deeply cared for the people in his life, and she admired that about him. One of Ethan’s favorite memories from their early days of dating followed another night of spending time with friends and celebrating life. The two love birds went back to the boarding facility that Spencer was operating at the time. Spencer decided she was going to demonstrate her equestrian skills for him by riding her miniature pony Pickles bare back.. and also backwards … at 3 in the morning. This is when Ethan knew that he had surely found someone special; someone spontaneous, adventurous and willing to do just about anything to share a laugh at any given moment. As time went on, they found themselves spending almost every day together. Sharing memories of movie nights, hiking, dinner dates and a few more dingy downtown bars. Eventually they were inseparable and those moments became years together, buying a condo, then a puppy, then a house, going on trips and falling in love with each other’s friends and family. Over time the pair has supported each other through some of the most wonderful, as well as the most challenging days of their lives, becoming best friends along the way. They love to go on adventures together but enjoy the little moments of the life they’ve built most of all. Watching the seasons change around the cozy home they purchased, staying in bed late on the weekends to spend time snuggling their dogs Lilly and Tulsa, or wasting an evening sitting in lawn chairs watching their flock of chickens, ducks, and turkeys pluck treats from the grass with their scrappy street cat Arlo by their side, and always taking time to remember that these little moments will someday be their fondest memories. They are so incredibly excited to enter into this new phase of their life, and are so honored to have each and every one of you join them in celebration.
