Our Story By Erin Wisdom-Watson

We met at McCoy's in the Westport area of Kansas City on September 18th, 2014. He walked me to my car and asked me out again for later that week. We've been pretty inseparable ever since. Because we're both horrible at keeping track of dates, for a year we thought our anniversary was the 17th!

The Meet

Bald is beautiful. At least that's what he tells everyone... He found a girl who believed him and he didn't let go.

Anyone who knows Stacey knows she is the ultimate dog-lover.... so it was no surprise when her puppy love landed on a large, hairy human.

He had planned to propose on a riverboat on the Mississippi as we passed by the Gateway Arch on July 13, 2016, but the weather had other plans. After a summer of constant rain, with another storm that day, the river cruise was canceled. It was a good thing too. In a rush to get out of the house, we left the dogs outside and had to turn around to let them back in. We would have missed the boat! We decided to go ahead and go through with our dinner plans in downtown St. Louis anyway. By the time we got there, the storm had cleared and it had turned into a beautiful evening. After having dinner at the Bud Brewhouse we walked a few blocks to see the Gateway Arch where Kyle popped the question on the lawn in front of the Arch. Spoilers... she said yes!

What Should I Wear? We ask that you stick to semi-formal dress. No jeans, please! MEN: A dark suit and tie. WOMEN: A cocktail dress or a dressy skirt and top. There is a garden area at the Guild where there will be outdoor games and a photo booth, so wear comfortable shoes!

What's your theme? With our love for reading and of the Kansas City Library we will be having a vintage literary theme!How do I get to the venue? How do I get from the ceremony to the reception? The Central Library is located in downtown Kansas City at 14 W 10 St, Kansas City, MO 64105 and is accessible by car. The Library and the Guild are only one mile apart! Please make sure to move your car out of the Library parking garage as it does close!Where can I park? Isn't it going to be hard to park downtown? Parking is simple! Parking is being provided by the bride and groom at the awesome parking garage located next to the library! It's that building with the giant books on the side of it right across the street! There is plenty of parking lots and street parking around the Guild as well.What time should I arrive? The Central Library is in operation and we cannot access the building until after it closes at 5:00 p.m. Please do not arrive before 5:30 p.m. as library security will not allow you to enter the building until then! The reception will start right after the ceremony ends! Can I bring my kids? Yes. Since the ceremony hall has a big echo, the bride and groom do ask that you be considerate of the officiant and other guests on the bride and groom's special day. Where should I stay? There will be several blocks of rooms reserved at different price points and for guests traveling with pets. The bride and groom have had wonderful experiences with sites like <a href="http://airbnb.com/" target="_blank">airbnb</a>, <a href="http://vrbo.com/" target="_blank">vrbo</a>, and <a href="http://homeaway.com/" target="_blank">homeaway</a> and suggest renting an apartment/house for your stay! This is often cheaper and doesn't typically have added costs for things like parking. (Each listing is different so make sure to check what is included in a place before you book it!) There is also a KOA with kabins and spots for campers on the outskirts of the Kansas City suburbs the bride and groom highly recommend! Complete with playgrounds, swimming pool and bounce pad for the kids (and adults)!

The Bride and Groom are not having a traditional wedding party where the girls stand on one side and the boys stand on the other. Instead, they will be having an "I Do Crew" to stand around them and celebrate them coming together as a couple.

Martin and Stacey met in SOC 101 at Eastern Michigan University their sophomore year and lived on the same floor in the dorms, quickly&nbsp;becoming&nbsp;good friends.&nbsp;The next year Stacey became "the fifth roommate" taking over Martin's couch on
many occasions. They even took a bowling class together, twice.&nbsp;Stacey and Martin have stayed in contact over the years even when&nbsp;living on opposite sides of the country at times. Kyle and Stacey met up with Martin and his girlfriend&nbsp;Abby
in D.C. one summer and when discussing officiants Kyle and Stacey both couldn't think of anyone better than Martin! Martin is well spoken and outgoing, so get ready for a fun ceremony!&nbsp;

Matt and Kyle grew up together in Elsberry, bonding over nerdy pursuits such as fantasy novels and computer games. They've remained very close friends their entire lives despite often times living far away from one another.

Shin-Howe and Stacey met in 1997 in middle school band and had a friendly rivalry over first-chair trumpet. The unlikely duo stayed friends through the years and bonded over their love of baseball. They reconnected in 2010 when Stacey moved back to southern California and Shin-Howe was there to offer a drop-off or pick-up at the airport, to help with a move, or of course catch a Padres game. Shin-Howe has always known Stacey better than she knows herself and was the first to tell Stacey the new guy in her life was the real deal.

Chris and Kyle grew up together in Elsberry. They got close during their time together in the ALP program and then during high school, finding trouble mostly in Chris' basement. They've remained close over the years and still manage to get into some trouble every now and then.

Katie and Kyle grew up together in Elsberry, sharing many of the same classes and even riding the same bus home (I5 represent!). Eventually, Chris decided that she was the one for him, which meant Katie became an integral part of our small group! A welcome part! After that, Katie and Kyle became and remain great friends.

Stacey and Jessica met when Stacey moved to Kansas City and became fast friends, bonding over being two  females working in the sports industry and a mutual love of country music. Though most of their friendship has consisted of one or both of them working 16 hour days, 6 days a week with trips out of state, they have stayed close. Jessica and Stacey get together as much as they can even though they are now separated by an entire state.

Kyle and Eddie met freshman year at Mizzou and became fast friends, even traveling to Belgium together for four months during a study abroad program. They've done a lot together and have forged an irreplaceable friendship from their life experiences.

Lindsey and Stacey first met in 1997 at Meadow Brook Middle School in Poway, California through mutual friends. In the three years they lived in the same place at the same time, there were many sleepovers, road trips with each other's families and, of course, talks about boys. So of course Lindsey was the first person Stacey told about Kyle. Even though for most of their friendship they have been separated by 1,000+ miles, it's rare for them to go a day without talking.

Rob and Kyle met freshman year of college in good old Cramer hall. After clarifying that he preferred to be called Rob and not Robert, Kyle and Rob were inseparable, even living together for a few years. Many beers and games of Call of Duty  later, their friendship was cemented for good.

Jeff and Kyle became friends during the summer that shall not be named. He started hanging out with Matt and Chris and I and was gladly accepted as one of us. Today he and Kyle are great friends, bonding over music and video games and great beer of course.

Stacey and Kyle met Abby through their officiant Martin on a trip to D.C. in 2015, where Stacey told Martin he better marry that girl! (Don't worry he is!)  The couples have enjoyed a vacation together to Chicago and can't wait for many more to come!

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

One of only 13 U.S. Presidential Libraries, the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum's two permanent exhibits chronicle the Missourian's private life and political career -- with exhibits depicting his most difficult decisions like using the atomic bomb, the Cold War and recognizing Israel. President Truman and his wife, Bess, their daughter Margaret Truman Daniel and her husband E. Clifton Daniel, are buried in the museum's courtyard.
