The Tale of Mike & Staci

In 1999, Mike and Staci met when they were kids playing in the Devonwood neighborhood in Fayetteville, NC.

Mike lived on Timberlake Drive and Staci lived one street over on Haverhill Drive. They would always see each other when playing with the neighborhood kids. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t be playing with the neighborhood kids much longer because they both moved. But they were still in the same city. Years went by and they didn’t see or even heard of each other. But luckily in 2017 they both graduated from grad school and moved back home to Fayetteville, NC.

One day in October 2017, Mike and some of his friends from the neighborhood were talking and brought up Staci. Mike said, “I remember her! How does she look now?”. So he found her Facebook page and was amazed! Mike did the next best thing and took the courage to message Staci on Facebook. A few days went by and Staci didn’t respond. Mike became worried that Staci wouldn't respond.

Until one day Staci received a spam message and quickly saw Mike’s message. Staci immediately read the message and wondered “Who remembers me from Devonwood? Hmmmm”. Then she clicked on Mike’s profile picture and saw a picture of Mike when he was a child. She burst out and said “That’s him! That’s the boy I thought “I wondered what happened to that boy?”. Staci messaged Mike back and at the same time, Mike was getting on the plane to Slovenia to play basketball. Mike and Staci talked every day and in November 2017 they began courting. During their time courting, Mike and Staci got closer to God. Mike taught Staci to play basketball, fish, and get into a healthy lifestyle, while Staci taught Mike how to dance, paint, and the art of being calm. But they both helped each other to be the best person for one another. Now Mike and Staci are here waiting patiently for their BIG DAY as they become Mr. and Mrs. Thorne!
