We met in September 2017 on Bumble...yes folks a dating app! Within five minutes we found out that we both were from Columbus, graduated the same year, and had no idea who each other was. I went to Scotus and Dustin went to CHS, and that his best friend is someone I knew from the swim team. Then we found out that we BOTH LOVED STYX!!!!
We got off to a slow start but then finally had that ONE DATE where sparks flew! Since that day, we have been inseparable!!!
As our one year anniversary was approaching we decided to celebrate it a few days early. I had been fighting a virus for over a week and was still miserably sick. Dustin surprised me that morning with flowers, a necklace and earrings. That night, we had dinner and then went to the Adam Devine comedy show...which happened to be a Netflix taping! Little did I know something was up Dustin’s sleeve!
The day after the show, I spent the day in bed sick and Dustin was right by my side. On our actual anniversary day, I told Dustin that I was sorry for being sick. As always, he was sweet and said it was no big deal.
When I got home from work that night, my garage door opener didn’t work. I looked towards the front door and saw something blinking. I thought it was odd and walked to the front door. As I walked in, the dogs were going crazy (as always) but there were rose petals all the way to the bedroom. Dustin came out of the bathroom and I started bawling and screaming OMG OMG! After he proposed, he told me that he had taped the whole thing and that he took off all day to prepare for the proposal. WHAT A GUY😍
