Jonathan and Stacia met for the first time in 2017 at her house (affectionately nicknamed by its inhabitants "Kai-Rho"). Jonathan was good friends with one of Stacia's roommates and would come over after class to study and do homework. Although their interactions were brief during this time due to Stacia's work schedule, she remembers looking forward to seeing him and creating small-talk for a few minutes .

In 2018, Jonathan became romantically entangled with another one of Stacia's friends. When this relationship ended, Stacia recalls telling her friend that she was making a mistake because "He's such a great guy, and you don't let a guy like that get away!"

Fast-forward to late-2019, early 2020 and their paths crossed again when they were both invited to a semi-weekly game night at Cassi's house. And then again when they went to see a mutual friend's play. And then again for a Harry Potter Trivia Night. However it wasn't until the pandemic that their relationship really began to blossom.

With nothing to do but sit around and play on their phones while in quarantine, Jonathan and Stacia began to text daily. They created inside jokes, swapped childhood stories and spent countless hours getting to know each other's hearts and minds. This continued for 4 long months, until they finally felt comfortable enough to meet in-person for the first time since the world had shut down. So on July 9, 2020 they had their first official date at Stacia's home where they watched A Cinderella Story and silly cat videos on youtube. Over the following months their "socially-distanced dates" primarily consisted of drive-thru dinners at Canes, drive-in movies, outdoor mini-golf, and spending time together in their homes.

In the summer of 2022, the couple relocated to College Station so that Jonathan could pursue his master's degree in IO Psychology. This new chapter of their lives was scary and exciting, but only solidified what Jonathan and Stacia already knew- that as long as they were together, they could do anything.

On July 18, 2023 Jonathan took Stacia to the George Bush Library. As they walked through the gardens Jonathan surprised Stacia with a "late anniversary gift"- a homemade scrapbook of all of their time together. As Stacia read the book, she realized the final page read "Will you marry me?"

She said yes. <3
