This is a story about time... our time! Part 1: El EncuentroOur story starts on Hinge (the first go around). Ernesto came across Stacy's profile and one of her profile pictures stood out to him, something seemed familiar. He liked the picture and asked, "Where was that picture taken?" It wasn't took long that Stacy responded "Cartagena, Colombia!" We had an instant connection based on a shared love for Colombia. Colombia is a country that Stacy fell in love with the first time she went. She, loves the food, the people, the culture, and of course the language. Colombia is the country of Ernesto's roots. It's a country he learned to love as well. Colombia is an incredibly special place for both Ernesti and Stacy and it holds an incredibly special place in their hearts. Our first date happened in August of 2020, fresh out of a hard lockdown in the spring, we opted for an outdoor open space date. We met up in Andersonville for breakfast and took a nice long walk around the beautiful neighborhood. We shared our first kiss on our first date and Ernesto might have let slip that Stacy was the girl of his dreams... he was definitely on to something. We went on a few more dates and hung out a fair amount time. Unfortunately, it was not the right time for the relationship to continue. We went our separate ways but stayed connected. Ernesto attempted a few times to reignite the relationship but it still wasn't time. Part 2: El Reencuentro, Ahora si! On Friday, January 26, 2024, Ernesto’s coworker, Rob, tells Ernesto that His wife’s friend invited their family out to dinner at a Colombian restaurant. Rob asks Ernesto for food recommendations as he has never had Colombian cuisine before. Ernesto makes a short list of Colombian food Rod needs to try. Saturday, January 27, 2024, Rob and his family go out with Jaimee’s (Rob’s wife) friend…Stacy! Rob shows off the list of food he should try that Ernesto made for him, but Rob doesn’t mention Ernesto. Jaimee, Ros, Stacy, and Lenny (Rob and Jaimee’s son) are enjoying their night out at Puebilto Viejo. During dinner, Stacy takes a picture of Lenny with a giant picada colombiana in front of him, and she posts the picture on her Instagram story.&nbsp; On this day, Saturday, January 27, 2024, Ernesto was at home having a calm night. He was doing the usual, watching TV scrolling on his phone, and while on his phone he saw that Stacy had added a story, so he clicked to see what she had posted. Ernesto saw the picture of Lenny at Pueblito Viejo, with the caption “Len enjoying his first Colombian experience.” The Wheels started spinning in Ernesto’s head, Rob’s son's name is Len, and the person Stacy tagged in the photo looks like Rob’s wife’s name, Jaimee. He decided to ask Stacy a question about the picture she posted the best way he could think of. “Hey, weird question..what’s that kid's day name?” Ernesto asked. “Haha that is a weird question… his name is Rob” Stacy responded. ‘Rob Pionke?” “Yeah, why?”“I’m a SECA in his classroom!” Ernesto Exclaims. After that small exchange, Ernesto and Stacy’s relationship reignited thanks to the world being so small. We went out for our second first date on January 31, 2024. After almost a year together, Ernesto proposed to Stacy on December 21, 2024, in Cartagena Colombia. The city that initially brought the two together. To be continued….
