Our Wedding

Though we’ve known each other since middle school, it wasn’t until high school that our paths truly began to intertwine. Our story begins with our annual choir encore performance. Stacy always says it was a God thing—during rehearsal, Josh was having a hard time hearing Meredith (yes, that Meredith with the famously loud voice) in the auditorium. Meanwhile, Stacy, a quiet-spoken freshman, suddenly felt prompted to shout Josh’s name. To everyone’s surprise, he turned around immediately. That small moment sparked something in Stacy’s heart. Soon after, Stacy and Josh truly connected during a choir trip to the zoo. None of Josh’s usual guy friends could come because of attendance issues, which gave them the chance to spend real time together. That day, they talked deeply about their faith and discovered how closely their religious backgrounds aligned—it felt like they were meant to be. On June 1, 2019, they went on their first date to the Independence Square. After a sweet time together, Josh asked Stacy to be his girlfriend—and the rest is history. Since then, they have shared many beautiful memories: traveling across the U.S. with their families, from hiking the mountains of Colorado to strolling through Nashville, reuniting with loved ones in Louisiana, attending a wedding in Mississippi, and hiking and visiting family in Arizona. Weve built traditions together, too—like matching Christmas pajamas with the whole family and annual pumpkin patch visits. Every step of the journey has brought us closer, and we can’t wait to start this next chapter as husband and wife.

Meet Julie—truly the sweetest and most amazing girl you will ever meet. God knew exactly what He was doing when He brought her into my (Stacy's) life. More than just a friend, she’s my soul sister—the kind of person who knows what I’m thinking before I even say a word. I don’t know what I would do without her constant love, wisdom, and calming presence. We met through Josh (she’s his cousin), but let’s be real… she’s mine now.

Ask Julie about the very first time we hung out—I’ll give you a hint: it involved a massive splinter and some impromptu surgery. Let’s just say it’s a very good thing I have a medically certified best friend.

Some of my favorite memories with Julie are our long walks where we just talk and talk for hours, never running out of things to say. And don’t even get me started on our car rides—jamming out to our favorite songs with her is simply the best. Oh, and did I mention she makes the best scones ever? Seriously, no one does it like Julie. Having her by my side on our wedding day means the world to me.

Jack is Josh’s cousin—but thanks to their Grams, they grew up more like brothers. Grams made sure all the cousins stayed close, and Jack has always been the guy who has your back no matter what.

Josh and Jack share a bond built on late-night guitar sessions, inside jokes, and a whole lot of goofiness. If you’ve ever heard someone yell, “Jack, put your cousin down!”—you’ve witnessed their brand of cousin chaos in action.

When he’s not being a lovable troublemaker, Jack’s probably out fishing (and yes, he knows more about it than you’d think). He’s loyal, hilarious, and always up for a good time—which makes him the perfect person to stand beside Josh on this special day.

Meet Jayme—my amazing cousin and bridesmaid who has always held a special place in my heart. Even though she lives all the way in California and I’m here in Missouri, Jayme has always gone out of her way to stay close. Every time she was in town growing up, she made sure to spend time with me—and those visits quickly became some of my most treasured memories.

Whether it was staying up way too late playing Mario Kart, Mario 3D World, Carnival Games, or Wii Sports, or taking trips to the mall just to see the puppies, time with Jayme was always filled with fun and laughter. She even took me four-wheeling—something I’ll never forget!

Jayme has always had my back, and no matter how far apart we are, I know that connection will never fade. I’m so thankful to have her standing by my side on this special day—it wouldn’t be the same without her.

Joe is Josh’s younger brother by blood, but a little brother to Stacy by choice. He’s the kind of person who shows up when it matters most—loyal, dependable, and always ready to lend a listening ear. Whether it’s offering quiet support or making everyone laugh with his playful spirit, Joe brings warmth and strength to every room he’s in.

Now, don’t be surprised if he jokingly puts Josh or Stacy into a half nelson—it’s an inside joke (seriously, ask him about it). In reality, Joe is the biggest hugger around and will make sure you get one before you leave the room. He also does a surprisingly good impression of Kermit the Frog, which may or may not make an appearance. 

He’s always exploring something new—cooking, drawing, computer science, or testing out the latest workout routine. Joe is a hard worker, a great listener, and someone who’s always open and eager to make a new friend. Once you have Joe in your life, you have him for good—and both Josh and Stacy are beyond grateful to have him by their side.

Alea is one of those people who instantly feels at home. We first met in choir, but our friendship truly bloomed through her husband, Axel, who is one of Josh’s childhood best friends. From there, it was meant to be! Alea is not only one of my dearest friends but also an incredible mom to our sweet flower girl.

She’s a cowgirl at heart and proudly Dolly Parton’s biggest fan (seriously—don’t challenge her on Dolly trivia!). Whether we're teaming up for a board game (she’s the ultimate partner) or just laughing about life, time with Alea is always a joy. I’m so blessed to have her by my side for this special moment.

Alea Reyes

Axel and Josh go way back—all the way to grade school at Luff Elementary. Their friendship has stood the test of time, filled with countless memories, late-night video game battles, and competitive board game showdowns. These two are total characters when they’re together—if you put them in a room, odds are they’re side by side, cracking jokes or coming up with something hilarious.

Axel is the kind of guy who can light up a room. He’s full of energy, unapologetically himself, and always ready to bring the fun. Whether he’s making everyone laugh or just being the amazing friend he’s always been, there’s no one quite like him—and we’re so excited he’s part of our big day.

Meet Victoria—girlfriend of our Honorary Best Man, Joe, and someone I’ve had the joy of knowing for almost three years now. At first, Victoria can seem a bit shy and quiet, but once she feels comfortable, she quickly becomes one of the loudest (and funniest) people in the room. She always has a quick, witty comeback that keeps everyone laughing. One thing I really love about her is how true she is to herself, especially her love for cows, which honestly fits her fun personality perfectly. I’m so excited to have her standing by my side on such a special day!

Victoria Yanez

Meet Hayden—my lifelong friend and one of the most loyal people I know. We’ve known each other since kindergarten, though we’ve laughed many times about how we don’t even remember how we became friends. It’s the kind of friendship that just was—one day he was there, and he’s been showing up ever since.

We really connected in middle school, sharing memories like the time he convinced me last minute to go to the 8th grade dance, or when we went rollerskating with friends who were on a date—Hayden and I just did our own thing and had the best time. By high school, our friendship only grew deeper. We talked every single day—at school, after school—and we even attempted to build an igloo one winter, which ended up turning into a giant wall we used as tackling dummies. It may not have been the sturdiest, but it gave us some great laughs!

Now, even with college keeping us in different places, Hayden still makes a genuine effort to stay in touch, and every time he’s back in town, we pick up right where we left off. He’s the kind of friend you can always count on—someone who has your back, shows up without question, and offers help without hesitation.

Josh always says, “If I ever did anything to you, I know Hayden would be at my door knocking.” And he’s right—Hayden’s that kind of person. Oh, and did I mention he’s incredibly crafty? If you give him a pile of wood and a little time, he can build just about anything. I’m so grateful to have him by my side during this special time—because doing this without him just wouldn’t feel right.

Meet Jacob—my cousin, and one of the sweetest, most dependable guys you’ll ever meet. He’s the kind of person who’s always willing to lend a hand, no questions asked. Athletic, hardworking, and incredibly smart, Jacob has spent years playing baseball, running cross country, and now training for marathons. Oh—and did I mention he was valedictorian of his high school and is about to graduate from KU? Yep, he’s the full package.

One of my favorite childhood memories with Jacob was during Vacation Bible School. We were helping with the youngest group, making sure they made it to all their classes (which was no small task!). Afterward, Jacob, Lacey, and I went to the sprinkler pad to cool off and have some fun—only to return later that evening for the big VBS performance… still a little damp, but with huge smiles and even better memories.

Having Jacob as an usher is such a joy—he brings heart, humor, and a quiet strength to every moment, and I’m so grateful to have him be part of this special day.

Meet Josh—the youngest cousin and hands-down the most outgoing one of the bunch. If you ever needed someone to convince the grown-ups to say “yes” to something, Josh was your guy. He’s always had that charm, that spark, and just the right amount of ornery to get the job done.

Growing up, he was the one we sent in when we had a mission. I’ll never forget the time we all wanted to stay the night at Grandma’s house—even though we were older. Josh took it upon himself to convince Papa, running up and down the stairs like it was a full-on negotiation. “I almost got him!” he said one minute, and “I’m this close!” the next. And sure enough, that night we were all camped out like we were kids again—playing games, watching movies, and making memories we’ll never forget.

Josh has always brought energy, laughter, and heart wherever he goes. He’s not just the youngest cousin—he’s the one who brings us all together. We’re so excited to have him as an usher and part of this special day.

Meet our precious flower girl, Rosie—our goddaughter and the daughter of Alea and Axel. She is truly the sweetest and cutest little thing in the whole world! Rosie brings joy wherever she goes with her bright smile, big heart, and endless imagination.

She loves cuddling with her stuffed animals, watching Bluey, and singing along to her favorite movie, Moana. But most importantly, she’s completely obsessed with the groom—Josh might just be her favorite person in the whole world (and he wouldn’t dare argue with that!). We can’t wait to see her light up the aisle and steal everyone’s hearts on our big day.

Rosie Reyes

Meet Grey—our adorable ring bearer and quite possibly the cutest baby boy you’ll ever meet. He’s the son of my cousin Sariah Hawley and Nathan Breig, and he’s truly a little ray of sunshine. Grey is always on the move and absolutely loves being held (don’t be surprised if he charms you into snuggles with just one look!).

He’s the perfect baby—rarely fussy, always smiling, and full of curiosity. He’s especially fond of music, especially when it involves toys with buttons that light up and play tunes. But his favorite thing? Cars! Grey loves pushing around his toy Mercedes and giggles with joy when his dad gives him a speedy ride in it.

We’re so excited to have Grey help us down the aisle. His joyful spirit and sweet presence will make this special day even more unforgettable.
