It all started at a bar at 8am with a tequila sunrise and a Coor’s Light. Stacy had just gotten off a night shift and went out to have drinks and food at Bunny’s Tavern. Jarred came along with his sister (Stacy’s coworker, Jordyn). Jarred arrived last (naturally) and brought his dog, Dash. Jarred complimented Stacy’s shoes and they soon realized they had both done Ironman events (Jarred did one half Ironman and Stacy did one full and four halves- but who’s keeping score). The following week with a little meddling from Jordyn, Stacy and Jarred became Facebook friends and started talking. Once he finally gained enough courage to ask her out, her reply was “I’m boarding an 11 hour plane ride to Jordan right now, but I’ll be back in 11 days.” It then took Jarred an extra two weeks to finally ask Stacy out again. Their first date was at Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch and then were officially dating at a Halloween party. The next May, Jarred started a new job, and they moved in together (for efficiency’s sake). Jarred proposed at the Eclipse on April 8, 2024 and they closed on a house in Champaign in May.
