Our Wedding

Stanzi and Kevin met in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology Program at California Baptist University. Both swam in college and felt an immediate connection. Their common interests grew to include reading, video games, camping, traveling, consulting, and research. Stanzi and Kevin will graduate with their Masters degree in early May, immediately following the wedding.

How We Met

Stanzi and Kevin's first date took place on campus at California Baptist University. They picked up a Hawaiian pizza (pineapple on pizza for the win) and ate it on campus. Neither one was ready for the date to end when it was time to go.

First Date 

Stanzi and Kevin became an official couple on September 7, 2020. This was only a few short days after their first date on September 4, 2020.

Officially a Couple

Stanzi and Kevin took their first picture as a couple on September 26, 2020, at a swim meet. Stanzi raced at the California Baptist Intersquad meet that day.

First Picture

Stanzi and Kevin went on their first road trip in July of 2021. Excursions included Mt. Madonna, Camp Hermon, San Francisco, Grover Hot Springs, Lake Tahoe, Calaveras Big Tree State Park, and the Central Coast.

Road Trip

Stanzi and Kevin celebrated one year together by going to a sushi restaurant and seeing Hamilton at the Pantages in Hollywood.

One Year

Kevin planned an amazing day for Stanzi, an avid book nerd, on October 3, 2021. The proposal itself took place at the Lost Bookstore in Pasadena, CA. This was followed by a surprise lunch with Stanzi's family at Paradise Cove in Malibu. Cake and engagement photos were included.

Wedding Party

The Santa Rosa Chapel, a National Historic Registry landmark and one of the oldest churches in the county, was built in 1870. The building was constructed of locally grown pine and was dedicated to St. Rose of Lima. After the missions, it was the first Catholic church built in California. Priests from both the Mission San Luis Obispo and the Mission San Miguel traveled to Cambria (weather permitting) to conduct services. The chapel served the community for 91 years, and among its congregation included guests of William Randolph Hearst, Marion Davies, Gary Cooper, and Bing Crosby. The final Mass was celebrated in the chapel on May 26, 1963. In 1978, Cambria natives Marina Curti and Clementine Newman formed the Santa Rosa Chapel committee and spearheaded the restoration project for seven years. By September 16, 1984, the restoration was complete and the chapel was rededicated for community use.

Cambria Nursery and Florist

While the historic Sebastian’s General Store undergoes an extended restoration, our San Simeon tasting room has been relocated to a larger, cliffside building across the street. With soaring ceilings, plentiful seating, and an accompanying cafe, our new tasting room is the perfect place to stop on your way along the Pacific Coast Highway. Enjoy excellent wine and a bite to eat inside or at our dog-friendly outdoor tables with sweeping views of the bay.

Hearst Ranch Winery

San Luis Obispo County has an abundance of sea life throughout the coastal towns including the infamous elephant seals. The Elephant Seal Vista Point is located about 5 miles north of Hearst Castle. Visit this lookout between mid-November and mid-January, to be sure to see an abundance of these remarkable creatures.
