Our Story

A Tale as Old as Time ... Internet Dating

Picture of A Tale as Old as Time ... Internet Dating

Sit down and gather around, while I tell you a tale of two people that were destined for each other.

It all started when our parents ... no sorry, too far back.

It started when endless swiping of lefts (for those not up on the online dating lingo, that means to reject someone), turned in to swiping right, on the right person.

She saw a guy that had humor, was handsome, loved dogs, and while he had pictures of him running a marathon she thought, well, no one's perfect.

He saw a gal with humor, amazing hair, and "professionally" played Rock, Paper, Scissors? Again, no one's perfect.

As soon as they matched it was like they had known each other forever. The conversations were organic and flowed easier than the Saco river.

Good looking and intelligence? Yes please!

They talked every minute of every day and a month in to talking, because they spoke every single day, a month seemed like years. So they made it official, great things happened in between, and here we are today!

The Engagement Story

Picture of The Engagement Story

It was a questionable day here in New Hampshire with rain clouds on the horizon. The ring had been burning a whole in Andrew's pocket though so a little rain wasn't going to stop him from carrying out his plan.

He asked Stefanie and Lily if they wanted to go kayaking to the island that Lily had "discovered". They both said sure and everyone got ready to go out on the lake right by their house.

All three were in the middle of the lake, with many rows to go to reach the island and it starts downpouring. Andrew turns around and asks if the gals want to go back home. Stefanie, with the gumshoe that she is, knew what was going on said, "Hell no! We paddle on!"

Editors Note: There was no lightning, all was good

So they all reach the island and as soon as they step on it, it stops raining. Andrew hands a phone to Lily and somehow, without knowing what was really happening, Lily starts recording the proposal. Of course, mid way through she decides to yell out, "Just do it already!" "Can I stop recording?". Which of course, makes the recording all the better now.

After Andrew proposes to Stefanie (spoiler: she says Yes), Andrew turns around and says "Wait! I have something else". He takes out another box and asks Lily if he can be her bonus Dad for the rest of their lives. <insert water works here>. (spoiler: Lily said Yes too)

They get back in the canoe, the rain starts up again, and they both get the arm workout of their lifetime paddling back to shore in the pouring rain.
