Our Story

It all started with a summer trip to Austin in 2020 — a weekend full of sunshine, good friends, and plans to float the San Marcos River. I was looking for a little escape from city life, hoping for laughter, cold drinks, and some much-needed Texas river therapy. What I didn’t know was that I was about to meet my favorite person in the world.

As fate (and a strong river current) would have it, we somehow ended up tying our tubes together. If you’ve ever floated the river, you know — who you tie up with really matters. You’re side-by-side for hours under the blazing sun, navigating rapids, dodging branches, and sharing snacks. Normally, picking a complete stranger would be a risky move… but that day, it turned out to be the best decision we ever made.

I’ve always been a little shy around new people, but with Chris, I felt instantly comfortable. Somewhere between the laughter, the tangled tubes, and the stops at Shotgun Island, a spark started to form. That spark turned into full-blown chemistry on the party bus ride home, when I attempted a backflip (keyword: attempted) and landed right in his lap. Smooth, right? But for Chris, that moment sealed the deal — he knew I was going to be a big part of his life.

A few weeks later — long distance and all — we had our first official date: Chick-fil-A and my first visit to Cam’s lake house. It didn’t take long for both of us to realize this was something special.

Not long after, our relationship was put to the test. With me in Dallas and Chris in Austin — and the world still trying to figure out life in the middle of COVID — we found ourselves in the middle of the 2021 Texas freeze. What should’ve been a quick three-hour drive turned into a six-hour ice-covered adventure, with Chris playing my personal GPS, talking me through backroads and icy detours until I finally made it safely to him. Once I got there, the city completely shut down — no water, no heat, and definitely no leaving. We melted snow for water, rationed snacks like pioneers, and spent the week bundled up, laughing at the chaos. It wasn’t exactly a romantic getaway, but somehow, freezing together made our hearts a little warmer — and it’s still one of our favorite memories.

Since then, we’ve built a life full of adventures, cozy Sundays with our fur babies, and plenty more float trips together.

Now, we can’t wait to float into forever — and we’re so excited to celebrate the start of our next chapter with all of you!
