Chapter 1: The Boy Who Lived {at Edwards}


This tale begins in 2011, in Fort Collins, Colorado. While most track athletes lived in Newsom Hall, Gunnar had chosen to live with high school friends in Edwards on the other side of campus. Gunnar supposedly had an 8 am class freshman year, and every morning on the way to my 9 am class I kept an eye open for the cute boy with the green Beats. Unfortunately, after failed attempts of flirting and two awkward teenagers that were just trying to keep their heads above water, we settled for friends.

Chapter 2: The Scar

Fast forward three years to Spring 2014. We had gotten to know each other as teammates and friends but now found ourselves spending a lot of extra time together – in the training room. With my major foot surgery and Gunnar just being injury prone, we found ourselves both home while the team was traveling, and the ice cream dates begun. Throughout the next few months, after Gunnar was sure I could handle his friends, things started to get more serious. On May 25, 2014, Gunnar planned a very nice excursion to Estes Park. To say that everything that could go wrong did go wrong is an understatement, however, drenched from rain and still wearing a boot, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face when Gunnar asked me to be his girlfriend.

Chapter 3: Moosey, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs

Throughout the next 3 years, we mastered our swing dancing, traveled the country, cheered on all our favorite teams, Gunnar learned to ski, I try not to break my clubs when I golf, and we even learned that we will never paint our own home again. However, our favorite adventure began when we welcomed our four-legged pup, Moose into our home. After many sleepless nights, down feathers strewn about the house, and even one green tomato scare, together we have learned the importance of patience, gratitude and unconditional love.

Chapter 4: The Unbreakable Vow

On June 23, 2018, Gunnar made plans to hike to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Crested Butte. At the top we posed for a photo opp, and the next thing I know we had decided on forever.

Chapter 5: The Wedding

On July 6, 2019, we ask you all to come celebrate with us as we kick off this next chapter in our adventure.
