It all started with a text message on Friday in April, from some guy I barely knew in high school. At the time, I was getting discharged from the hospital following a week's stay with pneumonia and barely had the energy to text this strange guy back. By Monday, I had slept in sixteen hour segments and was ready to start a conversation. Meanwhile, David had thought I was ignoring him- good thing he didn't give up hope! He had gotten my phone number from our best man, Chris, who I had known for a few years already. That week, Chris, David, and I met up at the Howell Dairy Queen (where all Howell residents have had their best memories, am I right?) and the rest is history. David and I began running together as I tried to build my endurance back up after being sick and a friendship formed unlike any other. Have you ever met someone you just "clicked" with? Who "got" you at your best moments, and your worst? Our friendship evolved to a relationship on May 11th, 2013 and the first "I love you" came soon after and we haven't looked back. We have gotten to share so many experiences together: high school graduation, the longest 4 years at Kettering University, many adventures in Michigan, cross-country travel, career changes, buying a dream car (woo hoo Ford Fiesta ST!), buying our first house.

It took David just over 6 1/2 years of dating to decide I was the one and after many subtle hints and two ring shopping experiences (in 2018 and 2019), he got down on one knee on New Years Eve at my parents' house with some of our closest friends and family present. Needless to say, I was 100% surprised- I didn't think there was any way he could surprise me after so much hinting and waiting and yet he still took my breath away when I came up the stairs and saw him there. I cannot wait to continue living this life with him by my side- especially with a ring on HIS finger too!

So gang, it's time to tie the knot! Let's get married!
