Stephanie and Mark met the way most millennials do in the 21st century—on Tinder.In August 2019, Mark opened with a dark yet funny pick-up line that immediately caught Stephanie’s attention. From there, they bonded over music, discovering they shared a favorite band, Title Fight, and realizing they had even attended the same concerts years before. Clearly, fate had been trying to bring them together for quite some time.After about a month of endless texting, they finally met in person for their first date at Decades Arcade &amp; Bar in Lancaster. Between the great food and even better conversation, Stephanie at one point completely destroyed Mark at Street Fighter—a fact she still loves to remind him of, just to make sure he remembers (and no, he definitely didn’t let her win).When the night came to an end, neither of them wanted to say goodbye. They ended up back at Stephanie’s house, sitting on her couch and talking until 2:00 a.m. Concerned about Mark driving home so late, Stephanie offered him the couch for the night. By sunrise, neither of them had slept. Instead, they had spent hours talking, laughing, and realizing they had found something real. It was clear this wasn’t just a first date—it was the beginning of something lasting.A month later, on October 8, 2019, after dinner downtown, Mark asked Stephanie to put on some music while they sat together in her car. When she looked at the playlist title, it read, "Will you be my girlfriend?" and the playlist was filled with songs that reminded him of her. Her answer was an easy "yes."Their relationship faced its first big test when they decided to quarantine together during the 2020 pandemic. If two people can survive being cooped up together for weeks without driving each other crazy, that's something special. And survive they did. In fact, Mark even made it through a Choy family Disney World vacation in 2022—a true test of endurance that only solidified his place in the family.Since then, they've traveled up and down the East Coast for concerts and adventures, added to their tattoo collections, played countless video games together, and spent many cozy nights at home with Stephanie's cats, Waffle and Pancake.Then, on October 10, 2025, while celebrating their six-year anniversary, Mark took Stephanie to The Met Cloisters in Manhattan. They spent the day wandering through sunlit halls, admiring the art, gardens, and views of the Hudson River. While they were sitting together on a bench, Stephanie noticed a bright red cardinal—a sign she believed was from her dad, letting her know he was there with them. When she turned to share the moment, Mark was down on one knee. Her answer came just as easily as it had six years before: "Of course."Now, they can't wait to celebrate the next chapter of their story with the people who have been there along the way.
