Our Fairytale

Our fairy tale begins the way you hear it in the movies; lights, music, laughter, fun, cotton candy, ice cream, games, and prizes. Only, our setting wasn't at a glamours high school dance like Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray in 'A Cinderella Story,' but it took place at a carnival junior year of high school. Joey and Stephanie had been attending the carnival, unknowingly, on the same night in May 2010. Only, Stephanie was on a date, and Joey attended with his friends, who were ironically meeting up with Stephanie's girlfriends. When Stephanie's date was over, Stephanie was in search of her girlfriends, who were no where to be found at the crowded carnival. Stephanie saw Joey, a familiar face, and asked "can you help me find my friends?" Joey, who had admired Stephanie since his freshman year of high school, took the opportunity to ensure avoiding Stephanie's friends, in an attempt to get to know Stephanie a little further than their weekly AIM conversations through "metrchamps001" and "fit4acrown." Stephanie and Joey hit it off, and began dating officially on June 11, 2010 over a bowl of Sweedish Fish and Monsters Inc. On their one year anniversary spent down the shore after prom weekend, Joey gave Stephanie a "promise ring" before they'd attend and dorm at separate colleges. Joey and Stephanie made clear that the promise ring signified they would one day marry one another. After seven more years of wearing the promise ring, Joey finally popped the question and asked Stephanie to marry him on May 18, 2018. On May 18th, Stephanie was tricked into believing she was celebrating a birthday, with the same four best friends she was trying to find eight years ago at the carnival. Joey surprised Stephanie on the pier in Edgewater, with a dozen white long stemmed roses in one hand, and a beautiful ring in the other. Joey got down on one knee, and asked for Stephanie's hand in marriage. After the proposal, Joey had planned a surprise party for Stephanie with her closest family and friends. Upon arrival to the party, Joey had a projector screen playing pictures of the newly engaged couple from day one to year eight, accompanied by their "songs" throughout the years. The morning after, Joey brought Stephanie back to the carnival that they had met, and repeated their walk from under the light post, past the cotton candy stand, under the Ferris Wheel, and back to the ticket booth, as they do every year. This time; as an engaged couple. These high school sweethearts prepare to officially tie the knot on October 2, 2020 accompanied by family, friends, lights, music, laughter, fun, cotton candy, ice cream, games, and prizes. Only this time, not at the local carnival, but at the glamours setting, The Venetian.
