Colby and Stephanie talked for eight weeks before they went on their first date. At their first date Steph did not hesitate in showing her love for adventures and competitive nature. After that date Colby asked to make their relationship official but Steph wasn’t ready for that. Ten weeks went by of Colby patiently waiting for her. Then on the fifth date he asked her to be his girlfriend and his heart leaped with joy when she said "yes."

Since then, Stephanie and Colby’s relationship has flourished. They’ve found a mutual love for hiking, camping, and drinking whisky over an open fire. With Stephanie being a dreamer and Colby being a planner, they've enjoyed working together to make adventures happen. Together they have traveled over 14,000 miles in their long-distance relationship.

As their relationship got more serious, Colby realized how committed Stephanie was to Braveheart Chaplain Ministry and wanted to support her in what God called her to do. So, he went to back to Illinois with her, got her father's blessing and proposed. After receiving another "yes" from Stephanie, he got a job as a Research Analyst for Montana State's Department of Health and moved to Kalispell.

Together they are finishing their wedding plans and beginning to create an adventure for a lifetime.
