We met the same way any two Hawkeyes are destined to meet; at an Iowa tailgate. We were in our early twenties and ended up at the same tailgate thanks to a friend of a friend. Neither of us were looking for a significant other at the time; Josh was new to Iowa City, and Steph was focusing on school and friends. We ended up hitting it off immediately and spent the entire day together. Since then, we never stopped talking. Not long afterwards, we started dating and knew from the start we would end up together.

We grew together over the years, supporting each other through our professional and personal endeavors. Eventually, our jobs placed us in the same region so we were able to live together. Now with our puppy Chloé added to our family, we are so happy to plan our wedding day and spend the rest of our lives together.
