Will your wedding be indoors or ouotdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors so feel free to wear a hat or sunglasses. Neither the reception nor the ceremony will offer shade, however, the sun will set during the reception.

What is the easiest way to get to and from your venue?

From San Diego: there are no direct flights from Lindberg Field, the easiest way is to fly nonstop from Tijuana International Airport via the Cross Border Express (CBX). From Tijuana: Try www.Yavas.com for package deals on flights and hotels. From Ohio: there are no nonstop flights, and flying to La Paz will require multiple layovers so if you prefer to fly into Los Cabos we can help you arrange shuttle transport to La Paz. For more info on CBX check out https://www.crossborderxpress.com/en/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4NujBhC5ARIsAF4Iv6erQMV4D_XowSjTcRkZi613sRyAz6nVAKmiuFWmgA_O7bCNSVOwbPEaAuvIEALw_wcB

What should I wear?

NOT WHITE! Woman: Sundress or something similar. It will probably be hot outside so try to keep it cool and casual. Men: Skip the suit! Button-up shirts or polos are fine, as are shorts. Also, since the ceremony is in the sand, there will be a shoe check available if you prefer to be barefoot.

Will there be a block of rooms available at the hotel?

Yes. Costa Baja has set aside rooms with a rate of $3,360 pesos per night (approximately $200 USD). Book directly via reservations@puertacortes.com and use code B02 or let them know you are coming for the Garcia/Hoffman wedding to get that rate. You can also call +52-612-123-6004 to book.

Can I bring my children?

Unfortunately only the children who are in the wedding party may attend.

Will there be a shuttle to and from the airport?

If you are flying into San Jose del Cabo, send your flight information to starlie0128@gmail.com and we will arrange a shuttle to transport you. If you are flying into La Paz International Airport, there are taxis available for approximately $400 pesos or roughly $20 USD.

What weather should we expect?

Typically, La Paz in May is hot and dry. You can expect sunny days with temperatures around 78-85 degrees.

Will there be food options for those with dietary restrictions?

Yes. Please let us know in advance so we can accommodate.

Is it open bar?

Of course! Make sure you try out our signature cocktails!

Should we bring a gift/do you have a registry?

Please save the room in your luggage (and ours!) and in lieu of a gift we prefer cash to be used on our honeymoon. Or, if its easier: Venmo- @Stephanie-Hoffman-11, Paypal- @stephaniehoffman1, Ca$happ- $Starlie0128, Zelle- 619-616-8828

Are there other places to eat or visit while we're in town?

Absolutely! Mexico is beautiful and we recommend you get out and explore a little. Please check out the "Things to Do and See" and "Try Some of our Favorite Restaurants" tabs on this website for our recommendations.

Am I allowed to take photos/videos on my cell?

We will be having a cell phone free ceremony so please turn the volume off and put it away for a few minutes. But, don't put them too far away as we encourage you to take pictures during the reception!

What date should I RSVP by?

February 29, 2024

Is it ok if I don't speak Spanish?

Yes! Most people in Baja California Sur speak English so communication shouldn't be a challenge. I do recommend learning a few useful words like, "Gracias" "Por favor" and "Buenos dias". Check out this link for more common words and phrases. https://www.insuremytrip.com/travel-advice/travel-planning/learn-spanish-travel/ Also important: Occasionally the bathrooms may not have a picture of a man or woman on the door. Women/ladies your bathroom will say either "Mujeres" or "Damas" (or sometimes just M). Men, your bathroom will say "Hombres" (or sometimes just H).

Can I stay at another hotel?

Yes! There are a lot of Airbnb and VRBO homes in the area if you prefer something like that. Otherwise, the Hyatt Place is next door and if you prefer a hotel right in the center of town, Seven Crowns or El Morro are great options. Feel free to search around because there are lots of other hotels and we haven't had the chance to stay at them all yet!

Will I need an outlet adaptor?

No, Mexico uses the same standard 120 volt outlets as used in the United States so everything will plug in the same.

Should I trade my dollars for pesos before I come?

You will get a better rate if paying in pesos. There are a few places that are cash-only so it's good to have some on hand just in case. Most places will take credit/debit, but check with your card(s) to see what the foreign exchange rate/fee is.

Should I rent a car?

If you want to get out and explore, then yes! We have had the best service and price with Mex rental. Your American drivers license and major credit card is all you need. However, there are also taxis and Ubers available at very reasonable rates.

Is Mexico safe?

For those concerned with safety in La Paz, BCS Mexico, the link attached will provide helpful information. https://www.travelinglifestyle.net/is-la-paz-mexico-safe-travel-advisory-2023/

Is there a gym or spa?

Yes. You can book a spa appointment directly through the hotel and the gym is free for any hotel guest

Do I need to leave the hotel?

Not if you don't want to. There is a beach and a pool onsite. There are also restaurants, bars and coffee shops onsite. There are kayaks available for rent, a volleyball net and playgrounds.

Which is the best day to arrive/leave?

The Party festivities start on Thursday at 4 PM. Ideally, a Wednesday arrival, since some will fly into Los Cabos Int'l Airport and have an approximate 2-hour commute to La Paz. We strongly recommend arriving a day or two earlier, or staying a day or two later and enjoying all the beautiful sites and amazing beaches that La Paz has to offer. We will be topping off this amazing weekend with a Sunday Brunch for those of you wanting to join us.
