Our Wedding

Stephanie and Garrett met online in 2017 thanks to Garrett visiting a friend for a weekend of golf. Stephanie was in her junior year at IU, and Garrett had just graduated from Purdue and started working in Indy, so chances to meet each other were slim! Garrett had a PowerPoint presentation on his dating profile, and thankfully Stephanie was with her friend to convince her to “swipe right” - Stephanie initially thought Garrett was funny based on his profile, but was a little put off by how small the pictures were on Garrett’s profile. She learned she had nothing to worry about, because the first time she saw him she thought he was the cutest guy she’d ever seen!!! Their first date was going to the movies to see “It” (Garrett’s choice) and Stephanie remembers feeling more scared to see the movie than to go on a date with him. After the date, they continued seeing each other and talking every day and decided they would really like to see where the road would lead them next.

The Beginning

Garrett and Stephanie continued visiting each other weekly while Stephanie was at school, and quickly fell for each other. Stephanie decided after graduation in 2019 that she wanted to move to Indy to be closer to Garrett. Eventually, they got their first apartment together in Downtown Indianapolis and lived in the same building for 4 years. Those 4 years included lots of laughs, traveling, job changes, a global pandemic, and even a new cat in the family! Through all of life’s changes, expected and unexpected, their home together remained a safe and loving space.

The In-Between Years

In June of 2023, Garrett and Stephanie took a trip to Denver to go hiking which is one of their favorite things to do together. Stephanie was hoping for a proposal, as they had discussed a mountain scene before, but ultimately decided that it wouldn’t be happening this time, much to her friend and family’s amusement. (Traitors) Taking the same hiking trail as they did in 2021, Garrett had planned to stand in the same location they did three years prior for a photo, but this time with a ring, a photographer, and a beautiful question. Stephanie obviously said YES, and finally they were engaged! Shortly after, they made a very big decision together, and began to plan their move from Indiana to Florida as fiancés. They said their “see you laters” to their friends and family, packed up their two cats, and started their new journey in October of 2023!

The Engagement

The newly engaged couple had thoughts about eloping due to their relocation to Florida, and ultimately decided it would be the best decision for them. On their 6 year dating anniversary (November 1, 2023), Stephanie and Garrett had a private ceremony on Anna Maria Island with Stephanie’s mom and Garrett’s parents. It was a perfect day and the true beginning of the rest of our lives. They decided they still wanted to host a reception to celebrate with all the friends and family that could not be with them on their first special day, so they kept the very important date of November 1st to do just that! As many of you may recall, Taylor Swift graced Indianapolis with her presence during the weekend of their original reception date, inevitably causing a delay in their reception. That brings us to present day!

The Ceremony

November 1, 2025 will be the date we (finally!!!) get to celebrate our marriage with our friends and family. 8 years of dating, 2 years of marriage, and lots to catch up on - we can’t wait for the big day! See you soon, G + S ❤️
