The Story of Us

Picture of The Story of Us

We met at church, but our story didn’t start as a love story right away. For a while, I was simply part of his friend group laughing, serving, and growing in the same community. Over time, friendship slowly turned into something more as we got to know each other’s hearts. At the beginning of the year, feelings began to grow, and by late February, he asked me out. Our first date was at Carajillos, where we shared good food, long conversations, and lots of laughter. It quickly became clear that what we had was something special. By March, we were spending so much time together that he assumed we were official until one Sunday at church. While holding the doors together, a lady asked if I was single. I said yes (because technically, I was), and he realized he still needed to ask. Laughing, he said, “Stephanie, would you like to be my girlfriend?” And just like that, we were official. From then on, everything felt intentional. We prayed together, talked openly, and built our relationship on faith, trust, and friendship. From fishing trips and family dinners to beach days and unplanned dates, every moment confirmed what God was doing. Early on, we felt a deep sense of peace about our future together. We talked often about marriage, family, and the life we hoped to build. Through joyful moments and hard conversations, our faith stayed at the center and continued to guide us. What began in a church community and grew from friendship became a love rooted in faith, intention, and joy. We are so thankful for the journey so far and cannot wait to begin this next chapter together.
