If you ask Kyle: I was convinced by friends while on vacation, in Colorado, to try this random dating app I never heard of called “Hinge.” After spinning the wheels on what to share, what pictures to include and how to be a little funny ( you know, typical online dating profile struggles.) - I gave it a try. Well, a girl warning everyone about her “Big Fat Greek Wedding” family caught my eye. It took me a while to get past my shyness and the whole online dating concept, but thankfully for me, Stephanie has ten times the amount of patience than I do. After going back and forth talking about the good, the bad and the ugly - we arranged to get coffee. I got there 20 minutes early and right when I sat down I got a message saying “I’m going to be about 20 minutes late.” I paced up and down Royal Oak Main Street sweating in 20° weather while my heart raced like I’d just run a marathon. Exactly 20 minutes later than planned, we finally met in person, ordered coffee and sat down for what ended up being both of our last first dates.

If you ask Steph: Fall 2021, I was totally ready to give up on all the dating apps. It’s quite tiring putting yourself out there time after time to be disappointed. Little did I know I would be deleting the apps, but for all the right reasons! One day, Kyle commented on the Big Fat Greek Family prompt on Hinge. We chatted A LOT discussing light and heavy topics. Hope flared as we learned about our similar family values, worth ethic, outlook on life and of course, Harry Potter 😉. There was a slight pause and I actually thought he might not be interested anymore. Then to my surprise, after Halloween he asked for a re-do; I respected the honest communication and leaned in. Cue to our first date at Atomic Coffee. He was nervous and I was running late... not much has changed and I wouldn't have it any other way.
