In a twist of fate that only love can orchestrate, Stephanie and Mac's paths crossed on Bumble, an unexpected meeting in the digital world. Stephanie was winding down a work trip in Michigan, while waiting for Michael (her son) to meet her in town for his official visit to the University of Detroit Mercy. Little did they know, a swipe would lead them to a cozy corner booth at a local Mexican spot, Los Cabos. Their first date unfolded with warmth, laughter, and hours of conversation that flowed effortlessly—as if they had known each other for years. As the night grew deeper, Mac invited Stephanie to see the basement he’d been remodeling with his own hands, a space that held the promise of new beginnings. They lingered in conversation that night, and in the days that followed, their words filled the airwaves between Michigan and Texas—texting, calling, sharing pieces of themselves with each message. Neither had imagined this chance meeting would turn into more than a fleeting moment. After all, Stephanie lived in Texas, and Mac called Michigan home. Yet life had other plans. As they sat together eating dessert, Mac took her hand and gently revisited each promise, letting his words linger in the air like a quiet prayer. He asked, with a smile in his voice, if they could hold true to those promises, and asked for her to marry him. Stephanie, caught up in the warmth of the moment, giggled softly and replied, "Duh! Of course I'm going to marry you!" She thought it was just another sweet exchange between them, a continuation of the dreams they had spun together.But then, Mac turned to her, his hand reaching for his pocket. As he pulled out a ring, the world around them seemed to pause. “Stephanie Oaks, will you marry me?” he asked, his voice filled with the sincerity of a man who knew he had found his home in her heart.
