Our Love Story

Patrick and Stephanie met yelling at a New York Mets game at Center Square Pub in Albany, NY in April 2018. After bonding over our love/hate relationship with the Mets, we talked throughout the night telling jokes and stories. In the beginning of our relationship, we enjoyed going to the local bars to play trivia or sing Karaoke with our friends. Pat is known as "Party Pat" when singing his favorite country songs. Three years later, we enjoy spending time on Stephanie's beloved Lake George boating, spending time with our families, or tailgating at UConn Football games. Our favorite vacations have been to Washington, DC and Charleston, SC. Together we have two cats: Autumn and Winter who have given us lots of entertainment and joy throughout COVID. On Christmas Eve 2020, when Stephanie was running a last minute Christmas errand, Pat claimed he also had a last minute gift to pick up near Congress Park in Saratoga Springs. While walking through the park, Pat got on one knee and asked Stephanie to marry him.

St. Joseph's Catholic Church

St. Joseph Church, once referred to as the "Ironworker's Church," was founded May 2,&nbsp;1847, by Fr. Peter Havermans. In 1848 the&nbsp;Church, serving a mostly Irish-American Community in South Troy,&nbsp;came under the care of Jesuits (society of Jesus).&nbsp; The church building is Gothic,&nbsp;cruciform in shape, and erected in the basic style of&nbsp;the 13th century architecture.&nbsp;The Main Altar was built of purest statuary marble and onyx, upon which&nbsp;DeVinci’s Last Supper is carved in&nbsp;Italian Carrara marble.&nbsp;The Stations were imported from Munich, Germany, and St. Joseph Church is host to the second largest collection of Tiffany Stained Glass Windows in the US.&nbsp;Sometime between 1902-1912, the Pulpit and Baptistry were&nbsp;added. The Baptistry is&nbsp;replete with Tiffany stained glass depictions of St John&nbsp;the Baptist, Mary, and the infant, Jesus.&nbsp; The Grand Pipe Organ was purchased in 1852. Dr. Thomas J. Guy, choir director and renowned composer, was the organist from 1853 to1900.&nbsp;Between 1940 and 1973 the organ was inoperable. The organ was then rebuilt, and is now in working order. &nbsp;Choir director, (the late) Br. Paul-Allan Carey, FSD and his talented associates have&nbsp;undertaken the pain-staking&nbsp;restoration process to return&nbsp;it to its original function and beauty.&nbsp; In 1970, St. Joseph's became a Carmelite Community.&nbsp;St. Josesph Church, Food Pantry, Cemetery, and Priory continue to be administered by Carmelite Priests under the patronage of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.&nbsp;
