Our story

Picture of Our story
You know that saying “when you least expect it”? Well that’s how our story begins. I was about to give up on finding my forever partner. I was opened my Facebook dating site so I could delete my account and I knew I had some notifications that I wanted to delete as well. Well I’m glad I ended up clicking on Kyle’s picture since he liked me first. We began the journey of getting to know each other and we hit it off so easily that we that we ended up FaceTimeing so we could plan our first date. Since Kyle lived in St. Louis, he made the 4.5 hour drive to meet in person for the first time. We went downtown to Navy Pier, walked around, rode the ferris wheel, and ate dinner at Ginos East. In a couple of weeks, I made the drive to St. Louis for the first time and he showed me around his favorite places. Our next adventure took place at Anheuser Busch for a beer tour. Im definitely not a beer drinker but I still had a great time learning how they make beer and all the things that they do there. Another time I was visiting him, I met his father and soon-to-be step mom for breakfast. He invited me to their wedding. During that trip, I also met his mom and step dad. As the summer was ending, we decided that if we wanted to continue our journey together, something was going to have to change. Lucky enough Kyles lease was coming up. He gave notice and we made that big jump. We began moving some of his stuff to my place until we could really move him all the way in. That was an adventure in itself. He had the help of his mom, step dad, and his brother Jack. Jack and he packed up all of his bigger items into the truck he rented and we started the journey of us living together. We began learning what its like living together, including our ups and downs, but in the end we knew that we both wanted to be together. So we learned how to best communicate with each other, share responsibilities, and continue to get to know each other. Kyle met my dads side of the family first, which I thought was going to be hard. However, they welcomed him into their homes when we were invited over for a family event. As time went on we would take weekend trips to St. Louis and we stayed with his mom. On one trip we brought Bryant with us so he could meet them. Bryant is a golden doodle so I knew he wouldnt shed all over the place and would be okay for a couple of days in someone elses home. In meeting Ann & Bruce, Bryant he was super excited to new people, like he always is. Ann & Bruce watched Bryant while Kyle and I went to visit his dad & Christie, and went to a concert. Bryant was super well behaved for them. He had such a blast playing ball in the house with them. One of the nights that we were there, we came back to the house and saw his mom cleaning up what looked like a big mess. I quickly apologized thinking that Bryant made the mess. Ann responded that Bryant didnt do anything wrong. It was her. She and Bryant were playing ball and she accidentally threw the ball right into the plates that she has hanging on a wall, which shattered into a million pieces. To this day, we still laugh when they play ball in their house. As time passed his mom and step dad came to Chicago to stay for a couple days, which I didnt know was planned. We spent the day downtown and walked around for what felt like forever. We met up with my dad so they could meet one another. We all walked down to Navy Pier and I noticed a person standing around who looked like his step mom Christie. Then his father Alan popped out from behind a brick wall, taking pictures of what I was assumed were all the pretty lights. In fact, he was actually filming Kyle and I. Kyle then walked over to his father and he handed Kyle something. I really wasnt paying attention. I was totally confused as to why they all were there. Kyle turned to me and started talking about how much he loved me, how he changed his whole life and moved here for me, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I was totally distracted when I noticed Christie had a sign that said Will you Marry Me? on it. When I looked back at Kyle, he was on one knee asking me to marry him. We were both freaking out. I took the ring and put it on my own finger, then I gave him a big hug and a kiss. I totally forgot to give him an answer! I heard Christie and my dad ask if that was a yes. I broke our hug to tell him YES! It was also really funny because we had caused a commotion and had a big crowd around us watching and cheering after I finally said yes. We were officially engaged. I didnt notice that Bruce was FaceTimeing my mom since she lives in Arizona and couldnt be there. She got to watch the whole thing, which was GREAT! We are now planning our wedding and our happily ever after. Please come and join us on our big day and celebrate our love for one another.
