Scott and I are now officially one of the success stories from online dating! We met on POF (Plenty of Fish) - I liked his profile...he sent me a message...and the rest is history! We talked for a short amount of time and he asked me out on our first date. It was even better than I could have ever imagined! We went to St. Paul and had a delicious dinner at Kincaids. Afterwards we went to the final Wild playoff game of 2015 against the Chicago Blackhawks which the Wild unfortunately lost. We spent a few more hours just chit-chatting at a local bar getting to know one another and it was honestly the best first date I ever had!
Ever since our first date, our love has grown. We have done so many wonderful things together including: comedy shows, walks around Cenntenial Lakes, concerts, Twins games, casinos, up to the cabin, etc. The list goes on and on! He has even stuck around through the countless nights of stress that I chalk up to graduate school, but with now having my Masters and being done, I am so thankful for the love and support I received from Scott.
We look forward to the days to come, the weeks to come and definitely the years to come!!
From what Scott says, he can never hang on to anything for a long period of time which is exactly what happened with my ring! When in actuality things just happened to fall into place the night he proposed. We had a trip planned down to Florida the following week, and many people had a guess that the proposal would happen down there. However, it definitely did not!
It was my last day of internship for my school counseling program and I called him up wanting to celebrate with going out to dinner. He agreed even after a long day at work, came home and we left. Scott wanted to head to Pinstripes in Edina, which we hadn't been to for awhile so I agreed. When we got there, their parking ramp was so packed that I was not happy about him wanting to still "go check" how busy they are. Normally he would say, "We are out!" Well I went along with him because he was so adamant about going there so got out of the car and not noticing that he was slower than normal (grabbing the ring out of the car.
We got to the front of the restaurant and he says, "Hey, we haven't walked around the lake recently, let's do it!" So we took a stroll while he was one step behind me the entire time, which was odd. He pointed out a couple taking engagement pictures and a "new" sitting area wanting to go take a look at it. I knew it wasn't new, but he sort of forced me down there so we were right on the water. We talked a little bit and he mentioned about how wonderful it is that I was done with internship, graduate with my Masters that weekend, and we were leaving to Florida the following week. Scott says, "I wonder what could make it better. Oh wait, I know!"
Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!
It sounds so cheesy and we laugh about it, but any other way he would have gone about it I would have figured it out! I was so excited and started crying and hugging him before I even had the ring on!! Then started flailing my hands, he was so scared the ring would fly off into the water!! It was an amazing night and we even got to have dinner at Pinstripes because they weren't overly busy!
