1) Check out the Strip District, Pittsburgh's cultural hub. Grab a coffee at Prestogeorge, crepes at Pamela's, and your favorite spices from The Pennsylvania Macaroni Company (Penn Mac). While you're there, venture a few blocks closer to downtown and visit the Heinz History Center.
2) Drive up to Grand View Avenue and experience the unparalleled beauty of Mount Washington. This is Stephanie's favorite view of the city both day and night. You can also buy a round trip ticket to ride the incline down and up the hill.
3) The South Side and Station Square span the bottom of Mount Washington. From the hole-in-the-wall bars to the riverside shops, there is something for everyone to do. Carpooling or taking an Uber to this difficult to park in area is highly recommended.
4) If you are a baseball fan, you are in for a treat! Settled in the Oakland neighborhood is a section of the outfield wall of Forbes Field, which was once the home field of the Pittsburgh Pirates. You can also take a stroll through many parks and find great local spots to eat, including Hemingway's.
5) Take a riverside walk along the North Shore where you will find the football and baseball stadiums and great dining and you can say hello to the one and only Mr. Rogers.
6) Pittsburgh is home to many museums, including the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Andy Warhol Museum, Fort Pitt Museum, and the Mattress Factory (not to be confused with the place that makes mattresses, the museum is a fun, art filled building).
7) Visit the heart of downtown Pittsburgh and get lunch in Market Square. Your trip will not be complete without a stop at Primanti Brothers. There is a location here as well as the original location, which is like no other, in The Strip District.
