The house was built in 1918 and used as the McLaughlin family's farm house. Built around the Little Cahaba River, the 18 acres were used as the base for the Mclaughlin Farm. After the home went to auction in 2003, it was purchased by Jared Heaton and his family to renovate and transform into a facility for weddings and other events.
