Steph was driving to the first day of a new school in August of 2015 when she had the sudden & overwhelming feeling that that day would change the rest of her life.


Knowing absolutely nobody, and entering into a field of study she knew almost nothing about, nerves were high. Upon arrival, she quickly got lost in the halls of WSU Tri-Cities and finally stumbled into her first class, linear algebra. In this class, the obligatory ice breaker was to share with the class something you like to do. I make McFlurries Stephanie said.


After the class, some classmates noticed their other classmates loitering in the common area, unsure of what to do with the next hour before physics class. They all got to talking and swore to get through this degree together. Squaaa was born.


Many months of crying at the kitchen counter over homework later, Steph & Ryan realized they liked each other, and each of them confided in their fellow Squaaa member, Haiden.


After being tricked into a sort-of date at the bowling alley, Steph made sure to end the night in the most awkward way possible...


An enthusiastic high five.


That didnt stop Ryan though. A few days later, he arrived at Stephs work to pick her up for a nighttime hike up Badger Mountain where he prayed she would not say no to being his girlfriend at the top. (She said yes) They hiked back down, as boyfriend and girlfriend.


Since then, Steph and Ryan graduated with their bachelors degrees together, Ryans in Computer Science, and Stephs in Electrical Engineering; have had many snowboarding and camping adventures; bought an awesome house; spent many hours with their cats, Brad and Tuffy; and got engaged.


They got engaged in the summer of 2021, just down the dirt road from Hills Resort on the shore of Priest Lake, making Hills Resort a perfect place to finally tie the knot 9 years after that Badger Mountain hike.


Hills Resort is a very special place to not only the Bride and Groom, but to the whole Wilson family and they are beyond excited to celebrate there with all of their favorite people.
