Lollapolza 2013. Perry’s Sound Stage (if you know you know). Stephanie was on the shoulders of her friend watching the show when they lost their balance and Stephanie fell off. Luckily, the stranger behind her caught her. That stranger was Dan. Dan was with mutual friends who introduced the two. That was the spark.

A few short week’s later at Marquette University’s old freshman dorm, McCormick Hall, Stephanie walked into an elevator and who did she run into? Of course Dan and Stephanie immediately recognized each other and exchanged numbers. It turns out, Dan lived one floor above Stephanie.

A mutual interest grew and the two began a friendship. Here’s where the stories diverge. As Stephanie tells it, Dan never “made a move” to ask her out. Dan’s recollection is that Stephanie was playing hard to get as a dinner date at California Pizza Kitchen failed to woo her(not a date according to Steph). It was for the best we never dated in college.

In 2018, after college, the two reconnected with the help of friends and Instagram. Stephanie was with her friend Karli talking about dating life & scrolling through Instagram. When Karli sees Dan on a friends “insta story”, she shows Stephanie. Steph asked Karli to reply, “Steph says Dan looks good.” Dan texted Steph promptly and an actual first date was planned. They’ve never been back to California Pizza Kitchen.
