After attending a baptism for our friend, many of us assembled at a local restaurant. This was the perfect meeting place for the both of us; we never knew how significant this meeting would become.
Kaitlyn: "I was sitting down waiting for a table. Stephen's handsome self walked in. We had been introduced earlier that week, so he said hi again. I was talking to someone else, but when I was done, he immediately snatched the opportunity to talk to me more. We walked to the table and there were no available seats together. I was disappointed, thinking our conversation would have to come to an end. Stephen did not let this stop him and fixed the unfortunate situation by pulling up a chair next to the empty chair, so we could finish our conversation. We talked and got to know each other a little. His genuine love for the Lord was evident almost immediately. He was telling me about his plans to evangelize at a Ranger's game with some people that coming Saturday and mentioned that I could come with them. He asked me to put my number in his phone, so he could contact me about this; very smooth. I was ecstatic to put my number in his phone. Eventually, Stephen had to leave and I was sad to see him go. He gave me a very charming smile when he said goodbye and I then had to collect myself after the interaction. I was thinking, "did that really just happen?" I had never been so immediately interested in a man.
Stephen: "I remember seeing her 4 days prior. My first thought was that her smile was stunning. After having introduced myself, I walked off and thought, "Lord I hope I see her again". Sunday, the 11th, was the fruition of this prayer. We had just finished attending a baptism for several of our friends. This set the mood for our first true conversation, after meeting in the lobby to the restaurant for the after baptism feast; I immediately gravitated towards her. Our party was seated and I missed the opportunity to snag a seat next to her. Being a determined and stubborn man pays off, I paved my own path, I grabbed a chair from another table, and plopped down next to her. Most of our conversation consisted of speaking about the Lord's faithfulness in opening our eyes up to His gospel. Typically I would go evangelizing after work on Saturdays, I took my shot; the invitation was welcomed with a glorious answer "Yes".
After our interaction, I went back to my friend's apartment and told them "I am going to marry that woman". Once again the Lord answered this prayer, now we are coming together in a union that represents Christ and His Church.
