While Kari was having a girls' night out for her birthday, I was sitting waiting on a friend who would never show. This ended up being a blessing in disguise because it gave me time to buy the birthday girl a drink while I was waiting. We had a drink together and I wished her a happy birthday then told her that she had a mean face. I'm sure it is a face that she made when she didn't want guys to hit on her while trying to enjoy herself with her friends but that didn't stop me. I began talking to her more and more before we ended the night. A few weeks later we decided to set up our first official date. From then on, I realized that the "mean face" she had that first night was only disguise hiding her beautiful soul that I ended up falling in love with and have continued loving ever since.
