The Grooms Perspective

It all started when I heard about a girl who was not at my sister's birthday party but was receiving pictures of me from an anonymous source. It was pictures of me talking to her little brother about anything and everything that ranged from science to video games. I did not know however this was occurring but a girl, I would assume, was gaining a larger crush on me than what had already grown. As time went on a new name would correlate with that girl that was receiving those pictures as a student who was needing a little tutoring in organic chemistry. I would never hear from this girl, even though I had complete assurance that she had my number. On April 8th of 2023 however this long-lost student would finally make a physical appearance. It was at our church's Easter egg hunt that I had not even planned on attending but was requested to attend. The girl had no name but was wearing a black and white flannel shirt, with a black snoga with glow sticks hanging out of just about every pocket that she had. She was rushing around the barely lit field in her white shoes that would not remain white after that night, chasing kids and seeming to try and calm the chaos that was occurring. What happened next, whether she admits it or not is the spark that lit this relationship. She appeared with her two friends, nervous in tone, asking whether or not I would like to help her coach soccer. Now remind you I have never met this girl but somehow, she knew I had experience in playing that sport, but unfortunately the timing was not right for me to coach so I "shot her down" as she still claims today. We proceeded to IHOP that night and I randomly ran into her and her friend the next day after a day full of basketball. This time however she was not calming chaos in her surroundings but was calming me and my anxious mind that was strained to the max. She sat poised and elegant with her hair in a bun as we began to message one another on Instagram not knowing that it would lead to two years of lessons and memories. To this day that we have waited on for so long and some of you may have waited on for so long as well. It may have been a long four months for me to ask her out, and a longer time for me to ask her that magical question, but through it all I would not trade it for another round.
