While Kurtis and Stephenie may not have the most traditional of stories, nothing could seem more fitting for the pair.

Kurtis and Stephenie met while just starting high school through Allie and Emily McElroy. Unsurprisingly, the two stubborn fire signs did not hit it off, but rather spent most of their time bickering. While Kurtis would pick on Steph, and she would in turn roll her eyes and attempt to quip back, little did either of them know where their relationship would end up years later.

After going their separate ways for the better part of a decade, the two met up again at Allie McElroy and Boone Landon’s wedding (to which only Kurtis was invited (thanks, Al)). Steph knew immediately she just had to talk to him. While she did not take the opportunity that night, they were again reunited just a few months later at a dinner party Kurtis was hosting. This time, they did not hesitate to connect, fighting off Allie’s attempts to keep them apart (thanks again, Al).

From then on, the pair have been inseparable, even going so far as to move in after 6 months of dating. Both swear they knew this would be their person within a week of dating. After 3.5 years of adventures, Kurtis took Steph out to her favorite place: the pier in Grand Haven. With Allie crouched in disguise in the dunes snapping pictures (thanks one more time, Al), Kurtis got down on one knee and tearfully asked Steph if she would marry him. Stephenie still isn’t sure if she actually said yes or more just shook her whole body excitedly, but here they are nonetheless, ready to start their next big adventure.
