It all started in Los Angeles in 2015...
Demi had recently relocated from New York City and was in awe of the Southern California culture, and attended as many music festivals as she could. She stumbled upon a group of childhood friends from Ridgecrest, California, that took her in at Joshua Tree Music festival, and they all kept in touch.
Through this group, Demi was introduced to Sterling, and in chatting, they found they had a world of similar interests, including music, art, family, values, outlook on life, the beach, and the fact that they were both born in early July (2nd and 3rd to be exact). Demi and Sterling grew to be great friends, and helped each other through many life challenges through the years.
Then one day in 2019...
Sterling called Demi. He said he was in town and asked if he could take her to dinner. Unbeknownst to her, he had always had a bit of a thing for her. She said yes to dinner, and the pair left the friend zone.
Just after that first date...
Sterling and Demi realized that they were deeply connected, and had been for a long time. They spent the year doing all the things they loved - they skateboarded around San Fransisco, ate tuna in Kauai, went to countless concerts, and spent a ton of time at the beach.
Then, in 2020, the pandemic hit, and Sterling invited Demi to quarantine with his family in Santa Paula, California. For 5 months, they ate, drank, played games, and became a true family unit. It was an absolute blast, and it solidified Sterling and Demi's next step- moving in together.
The two made their apartment a home and the next three years were full of adventures - from attending music festivals, traveling, snowboarding, camping, and more. In July 2023, Sterling took George down by the beach in Cape May, New Jersey, and over bourbon and cigars, he asked for his daughter's hand in marriage.
On November 18, 2023...
Sterling took Demi to their favorite spot on the beach in Marina Del Rey and got down on one knee in the sand. As he was proposing, two strangers happened to be walking by and snapped a few pictures of the exact moment that Demi said "YES".
They didn't want to interrupt the moment, so they wrote their phone number in the sand so that the couple could get the photos from them later.
We want to share our love with you...
Sterling and Demi couldn't be more excited to celebrate their love with you. Please know that whether or not you can physically attend the wedding, we appreciate that each of you has been and always will be part of our story.
