Some know our story, some don't - so here ya go!

Written from Kerry's perspective:

Steve and I had heard about each other from a mutual friend, named Regina. Me, a natural "match-maker-hater" was like "UM no thanks" but then I was curious and looked Steve up on Facebook. WOW!

Maybe I don't hate the "match-maker-BS" as much as I thought, I said to myself then of course I sent him a friend request. He accepted it pretty quickly and we were official Facebook friends. That was mid-December 2017.

December 31st, 2017 rolled around and I was at an "English New Year's Eve" party that another mutual friend of ours, Sammy was hosting at Churchill Arms Pub in Folsom. I look up and see Steve... live and in person, totally recognizable from Facebook. I walked up to him and said "You're Steve!" to which he replied "You're Kerry!" it was pretty funny and I suggested we snap a photo to send to Regina so this is our first photo ever together.

We had so much fun as friends for a while, many bands were seen together, many events, birthday parties and lots of dancing. I mentioned on Facebook in June of 2018 (yep, six months after we met!) that I was going to be at Corner Pocket with a girlfriend playing pool and watching a band if anyone wanted to come by. Around 9pm, Steve showed up and totally surprised me! We played pool and had some drinks with my friend and didn't want the night to end. He drove us home, and I suggested we make s'mores so we picked up some ingredients on the way home and had s'mores and iced coffee at 2am. It was a night I'll never forget. We had a long hug in the driveway and he texted me when he was home safe.

The next day we met up on Father's Day for a pool party and I got to see him in action with his kids and it melted my heart. His bacon wrapped asparagus also melted my heart!

That evening around 10pm, I decided that I needed to ask this man out, so I did. He didn't respond until nearly 6pm the following day but seemed up for a date! We met at Lazy Dog in Folsom on 06/19/2018 and it was the best "last" first date ever! We talked the entire time and closed the place down. It was well after 1am when he walked me to my car and kissed me.

The rest is history! Our relationship has been a dream come true, and we both feel so blessed and fortunate to have found each other. We love our time together, no matter what we are doing; whether we are having family time at home, playing games or cards, seeing one of our favorite bands, dancing, singing, or just doing not much of anything at all, we are just so happy to be together. Our families blended well two years ago when we moved in together, which was a huge blessing and we can't wait to make it official on 10/09/2022!
