Leslie and Steven met through a really terrible dating website. Sure, it worked out in the end, but it really wasn't well-formatted at all. Don't know if it still exists, but do not recommend.

Steven messaged Leslie and said "Howdy Leslie. Let's start with an icebreaker. What's your favorite book?"

Leslie said "I'm actually kind of a nerd and really like Harry Potter" Steven said, "Ah, but wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure!"

Leslie was intrigued.

Steven was working on a site job in Beaumont at the time, so they couldn't meet in person. Then as soon as Steven got back from Beaumont Leslie went on a trip to Colorado. Then Leslie lost cell service in Colorado. Steven thought she had ghosted him and gave up all hope. Then Leslie texted him from the airport in Colorado apologizing for not realizing that she wouldn't have service in the mountains. Steven pretended to play it cool and act like he hadn't noticed that she had suddenly stopped texting him back.

They finally went on their first date after waiting almost two months to meet on June 27th, 2018.

Since then, they've traveled everywhere from New Zealand to College Station. They've gone skiing and taken long walks with their dog Kingsley. They've adopted a kitten-bowl kitty and taught Leslie the rules of football. They've been to the symphony and the movies. They've survived living together for over a year of pandemic and still think the other person is pretty neat.

On September 25th, 2020, Steven put on their favorite movie (The Princess Bride) on their backyard projector screen and said "I don't know if you're a witch, but I do know I want you to be my wife"
