Steven and Diana were born world's and ages apart.
She was born in Kerala, India in the eighties & he was born in West Chester, PA many years later.
Their cultures and upbringing were completely different.
She was raised in India until the age of three and when she moved to America, she only spoke her native language of Malayalam. She has one older brother, but like most typical Indian families, she has a huge extended family who all lived in Philadelphia as well.
He was American-born and raised, but unlike most American families, he is one of ten siblings. He fell almost right in the middle and has four brothers and five sisters. The rest of his extended family still live out in Missouri.
She was a girly-girl who enjoyed Barbie dolls and all things sparkly. He was a rough & tumble boy who loved model cars and wrestling. She was a huge basketball fan and loved playing with her brother. He enjoyed baseball and played on teams with his brothers.
Their education and work-lives were also totally different.
She went to public school and he was home-schooled. She started work right after college, but he decided to serve his country and joined the US Air Force. She works in Marketing and when he got back from the service, he started a career in Construction.
Among all these differences however, there was one major similarity and it's what ultimately led them to each other... they were both raised in Christian families and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior at young ages.
That commonality led them to matching on the Christian dating app Upward in 2022. Interestingly enough, she accepted his interest on the app on May 18, 2022. That day would have been her Dad's 70th birthday, but he passed away almost 10 years prior. Steven and Diana felt that matching on that day was a sign that the Lord ordained this match from the start.
Their Life Together.
Now, over two years later, Diana and Steven both clearly see how the Lord guided and planned their lives... through the good and the bad... the happiness and the heartbreak... to lead them right where He wanted. They are so excited to continue their journey and request your prayers as they walk into their happily ever after.
