Steven and Emmeline met freshman year (2014) at Cal State Fullerton. They met on the first day of Calculus class where Emmeline turned around and asked him "What day is it?"... just kidding. She asked him "Do you know what's going on?" He replied, "Yeah I think it's this (answer)." From then on, they studied Calculus and navigated undergrad together. Bonding over their shared love of games and traveling. Steven asked her to be his girlfriend on November 5, 2014.

Since then, they have been on many adventures together, from learning the highs and lows of paw-renthood to a bunny named Chubby to traveling the USA. On June 14, 2023 Steven and Emmeline took a trip to Cancun where he got down on one knee at Isla Blanca (after being attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes) and asked Emmeline if she would marry him!
