I chose Zendaya for KJ as even though she is so young, she is so versatile as an model, actress and singer. She is excellent at mostly everything as she approaches life with a logical mindset, processes at a super fast rate and comes ready with actions! It's why she is so good at her job (partner title here we come!), loved dearly by her family and continues to make us all proud! We met at Bryn Mawr as a my Posse mentee but quickly realized she was teaching me. This was a beautiful friendship built on our love of family, sisterhood and our commitment to see each other grow! Thank you for continuing to do this adult life with me as my forever +1!

I chose Cicely Tyson for Jasmine as she is always the kindest, voice of reason and shares profound words of wisdom. She is the most unselfish person I know and pours so much love into this world! We met at Bryn Mawr, another one of the Posse 6 mentees, who was teaching all of us. Thankful to have her keeping us all together in sisterhood as we continue to build that emotional capacity together to enjoy life!

I chose DeWanda Wise for Lakeya as some of her latest roles as a hopeless romantic (Fatherhood, Someone Great) and she is drop dead gorgeous! We met at work but what drew us together is that we just love 'LOVE'! Despite all the pressures of the world, we kept trying to find it within ourselves and/or with that right person. Thankfully, we both have that now and its great to have a friend that loves herself unapologetically. She continues to remind me it's ok to let someone in and trust the plans God has for us. Thank you for being on this love journey with me!

I chose Gina Rodriguez (aka Jane the Virgin) for Natasha as her role always remained positive with lots of energy despite all the chaos all around. This is Tasha all the way... in spite of her circumstances in life, she finds joy in the little things and brings us along that journey with her. We met at the Posse finals round and when I found out she was another West Indian sister, she wasn't getting rid of me. From college to carnivals, we still here enjoying life together and joining a good soca fete when we find it!

I chose Brandy for Sartura because she is going to have to watch Moesha all over again with me now. She is that girl next door, just growing up trying to adapt to life and all that it throws at her. She loves her family/siblings and friends unconditionally and would do anything for them. We met at her birth as I used to change her diapers i.e., she is my younger cousin! Thanks for joining us crazy older young ladies, bringing positivity and a helpful hand in all situations.

I selected Taraji P. Henson to represent Shanika as she is book and street smart combined. She is now Dr. Bridges-King and will have your back in a fight any day! Our next generation of Black and Brown people are so blessed to have her passion! We met as as part of Bryn Mawr Posse 6. Many escapades as we traveled through Europe together, mother to my god daughter and continue to do this adult life together!

I couldn't chose one for Victoria but two people, Tasha and Sidra Smith. She is both people on any given day. A social worker that will be kind, generous and helpful as Sidra's characters then can be the wild and loving friend as Tasha's characters. We met in middle school but our friendship grew in high school, Boston Latin Academy! From skipping school, my god babies mom (2 girls, 1 boy), to growing up adults with matching tattoos!

I chose Angela Bassett as Viona gets the esteemed title of being my oldest friend ever and from since I was young, she has been in some of my favorite movies (Waiting to Exhale, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Tina, Black Panther and more). Since 3rd grade, we have been in a 'friends at first site' relationship! Even when we both moved many times throughout our life, we managed to maintain connection (before cell phones)! From watching Cinemax days (and we had no idea what we were really watching at the time), mother to my god daughter and now doing wifehood together!
