Our Wedding

Our story began in August 2018, kicking off our school year in the Syracuse University Marching Band. On the first day of band camp, the flutes and drumline sat together in the endzone during a water break and we started chatting! We bonded over our love of video games and music and became fast friends. Although our first date wasn’t until the architecture formal in the Spring of freshman year, it was clear to literally everyone around us that our relationship was budding well before then. During our time in college, we began interweaving our lives together and spent countless hours together and with our friends. We dedicated our time to our shared community and both ended up leading the bands that led to our meeting. We even experienced the typical struggles of long-distance thanks to the pandemic and the last year of Mita’s architecture program. While Mita finished up at SU, Rick moved to NYC settling into our new home. After graduation, we both took jobs in the building industry. Rick as an Acoustic Engineer and Mita as an Architect (associate AIA ifykyk), maybe one day we’ll open our own firm together! But for now, we live in NYC with our little family of us and our kitties Tank and Comet.&nbsp; Once we settled in we decided to go on our first couples trip to Vancouver, where both of us had planned to propose. Rick popped the question just 16 hours before Mita’s planned proposal. Leading us to now and the future, we look forward to sharing our special day with everyone! Thank you for being our friends!

Fun Fact: Amanda gave Rick his tour of SU on accepted students day pre-college and is Mita and Rick's little! Mita also broke a window in an attempt to save Amanda from a bug.

Fun Fact: Arushi and Mita joined marching band together as babies in the fall of 2014 and shared a locker decked in MANY memes and aesthetic pinterest photos.

Fun Fact: Mita and Eve used to sit facing each other, often watching nature documentaries, on their college house couch (almost) everyday for 2 years.

Fun Fact: Rick and Garrett spent the summer of 2021 marching White Sabres together, because they couldn't get enough of marching band during Syracuse's band season alone.

Fun Fact: Quezada patiently taught Rick and Mita how to conduct for their respective roles leading Syracuse's bands!

Fun Fact: Ryan and Rick formed a strong friendship after dancing in their friend's quinceañera after realizing their shared interest in Pokémon.
