We met at a New Year's Eve party through Sue's maid of honor, Sara. Neither of us anticipated that this night would be the beginning of something special. We introduced ourselves and hit it off immediately. We stayed in touch after the party and went on our first date at Insight Brewery (according to Sue, Tyler would say our first date wasn't until much later). And then, we made it official on January 31st!

This was our first big road trip together! We decided to get out of Minnesota and make our way to Colorado. We stopped in Denver for food and stayed in Colorado Springs for hiking. Unfortunately, Sue wasn't feeling well and Tyler went on an hour long hike to find Ibuprofen (this was during a time where there was still a curfew, so Tyler was very much afraid of getting caught). He did come back empty handed, but this is when we realized how much we cared about each other.

We celebrated our 6 month anniversary in Taylor Falls! Sue tried to keep it a surprise, but Tyler figured it out very quickly. We stayed in a yurt at a campsite. We kayaked, went to a winery, and had a bonfire. We had a great time exploring the outdoors together.

We celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Nashville, Tennessee! We explored the city and ate our way through Nashville hot chicken sandwiches. Not every activity was a hit though, Sue had dragged us to go visit the Parthenon and there was nothing to see except a giant statue.

We went on another road trip together to Copper Harbor, Michigan! The delicious food, beautiful hike, and small town made it an memorable trip.

For our 2 year anniversary, we went to Scottsdale, Arizona! From stumbling across a fun festival, to checking out the coolest art museum, to a nice hike, it was the perfect winter getaway.

We made another trip out to Denver, Colorado! This time it was to tour apartments and visit our friends! We had a blast going to a Rockies game, attending the Dominic Fike concert, and looking at apartments. Tyler took on a challenge where he ate a jalapeño soaked in chili oil and then had to take a shot tequila, but he did it! He won a t-shirt and bragging rights. The drive home was very brutal since we took the wrong way back an it ended up being 28 hours. Luckily, this brought us much closer together.

We had decided we want to propose to each other, but we kept it a surprise on when we were going to do it. Sue had recreated our dates and Tyler quickly realized that he was going to get proposed to since he had the exact same idea for his proposal. Sue proposed at Medicine Lake where we would go to for walks all the time, and to her surprise, Tyler proposed right after! We celebrated with our immediate family there, and a party with all our friends after.
