Stephen was working as a nurse at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia when Summer was hired to the same unit in March 2017. Once Summer met Stephen, she always thought to herself how cute yet intimidating Stephen was. Summer was so nervous around Stephen that every time she was near him, she would drop something. Her pen. Medications. Something, every time.

She was from the quiet beach town of Ocean City, NJ and Stephen was this "tough guy" (or so she thought) with a thick Philly accent. Summer never thought in a million years that she would be Stephen's type. Stephen finally had the courage to ask Summer on a date to Spruce Street Harbor Park in August of 2018 after a shift at work. Summer was in such disbelief that Stephen would ask her on a date that she had to clarify if it was really a date or just hanging out as co-workers, even going so far as to ask Stephen on their date, "So, what's your type?" To which Stephen replied, "Umm... you?" They ended the night with a kiss on the top of the bridge and Summer (who only thought this stuff happens in movies) saw fireworks go off in her head.

Shortly after, Summer and Stephen made their relationship official but kept it on the down-low to their coworkers. It didn't stay much of a secret for long. To no surprise, Summer accidentally slipped up to an unsuspecting coworker. Slowly one-by-one most people at work knew about Summer and Stephen's relationship, although not everyone because Summer and Stephen kept it very professional at work. Meaning, they avoided each other at all costs.

Fast forward to about 5 years later, Stephen proposed to Summer at Willow Creek Farm & Winery in Cape May, NJ. People at work are still just realizing Summer and Stephen are a couple.
