Ironically Summer and Michael both played softball and baseball at Three Rivers in 2017. While they didn’t know each other, they had mutual friends and Summer had a crush on Michael. Life pulled them in different directions while Summer moved away for softball in Columbia, and Michael began his coaching career in Poplar Bluff. In 2020 God called Summer back to Poplar Bluff where they began working together at a baseball/softball training facility. After a couple of weeks, Summer and Michael finally hit it off after playing against each other in a benefit slow pitch softball game. Beyond all the trash-talking and competitiveness, they decided it was time to stop being stubborn and hang out. Even though Summer had to ask Michael to be her boyfriend because he was taking too long, they quickly became inseparable. They quickly knew that God had brought them together, and they have not spent many days away from each other since. And finally, after dating for 3 years, Michael proposed on their family vacation at the beach.
