Our story began in 2012 when peer pressure from friends pushed us to meet at a backyard party. That night, we parted ways without exchanging contact information. We had a real Cinderella moment, where I (Summer) lost my princess (Ben) after the ball. His glass slipper was in the form of the Stater Bros uniform that he wore the night we met. I found him by a stroke of luck and many Stater Bros stores later! To not look like too much of a stalker, I pretended like I needed to buy dog food which happened to be near the meat department that Ben worked at. Ben likes to think that he approached me that day in the store and was a smooth talker that won me over, but that 20-year-old boy was a cheese-ball of cliché pickup lines, but I liked him anyway.

On May 15, 2021, Ben planned a grand proposal in Hawaii. With the sun setting over the horizon, a ukulele player strummed sweet melodies, and a picturesque beach picnic awaited us. Ben was nervous and was speed walking towards the picnic, leaving me struggling in the sand. But I eventually caught up, and it was on that beautiful Hawaiian beach that Ben asked me to be his forever partner. Of course I cried and of course I said yes!

As we look ahead to our future together, we are excited for the next chapter of our lives—a journey filled with love, laughter, travel, and endless adventures. We are so happy to have our closest friends and family join us in celebrating this long-time-coming wedding!
