How We Met

Our First Date

Picture of Our First Date

In the heart of Utah, where the mountains stand tall and quiet moments carry deep meaning, a love story was written—one full of unexpected turns, tender beginnings, and a little girl who unknowingly brought two hearts together.

Summer, the oldest of five girls and a true small-town Arkansas soul, had always chased adventure over romance. At 18, she packed her bags, said goodbye to the Southern sunsets, and headed west to Utah. There, she lived boldly and freely—traveling, growing, and experiencing life in every corner of the Beehive State and beyond. From Utah to Idaho and back again, she gathered stories instead of love interests, living with purpose and joy, but always with a quiet space in her heart waiting to be filled.

Weston, born and raised in South Weber, was no stranger to freedom himself. At 18, he also made his way to Idaho, chasing independence and carving out his own path. In 2023, life gave him his most precious gift—a beautiful baby girl named Olivia, or Liv for short. Becoming a dad at 21 changed everything. Weston stepped into fatherhood with strength and love, navigating the ups and downs of single parenthood with quiet resilience.

Then came the video.

Trenton, Weston’s brother, had been goofing around, scaring little Liv with a motorcycle helmet. Weston sent the video to Summer—someone he’d grown to know, but hadn’t yet met in person. Summer, with her signature thoughtfulness, replied:

"That little girl deserves ice cream for being scared like that."

Weston, quick with charm and a plan, said:

"I’ll take her to get ice cream… but you have to meet us there."

That invitation changed everything. Summer was supposed to be heading to San Diego that day for a week-long vacation. Her bags were packed. The plans were made. But in a moment that felt more like fate than spontaneity, she canceled the trip and said yes to ice cream.

One cone turned into hours. That night turned into the next, and soon Weston, Summer, and little Liv became inseparable.

What started as a simple gesture of kindness—an offer of ice cream to a brave little girl—blossomed into a love that felt both effortless and destined. In the months that followed, Weston and Summer built something beautiful: a home filled with laughter, love, and the pitter-patter of little feet. Summer embraced her new role with grace and a full heart, becoming not only Weston’s partner but a loving, devoted step mama to Liv.

Nine months of love and four months of engagement later, they’re now building their forever together—anchored in trust, joy, and the kind of bond that only comes when two souls recognize each other at just the right time.

And while their love story may have started with a canceled vacation and a scoop of ice cream, it's grown into a lifetime of memories, with Liv always at the center—proof that sometimes, the sweetest stories begin with the simplest moments.
