Our Wedding

Summer and Robert met in 2014 during their freshman year of high school. They had many mutual friends and always seemed connected by an invisible string. Looking back, they often found themselves at the same parties, on the same prom buses, and at the same football or baseball games, but they never viewed their relationship as anything other than friends. After high school graduation, Robert went to Texas for military basic training while Summer began her studies at Mississippi State. They never expected to reconnect at all, let alone through their siblings, who dated for some time. When Denver and Hannah began their relationship, Summer and Robert occasionally messaged each other, mostly about their siblings. Over time, their conversations grew more personal. A few weeks before Robert finished military tech school, he asked Summer out on a first date. Both were aware it might be awkward, given their siblings relationship and the years that had passed since they last saw each other. On their date, Robert took Summer to J. Christophers for brunch. The date was going well, and after brunch, they decided to drive to Roberts moms house to feed his dogs and hang out for a while. After about an hour, Summer began to feel unwell and asked Robert to take her home, suspecting she was running a fever. Concerned, Robert said, You know, youre not going to hurt my feelings if you didnt enjoy the date. You dont have to lie about feeling bad if you want to go home. We’re adults, no hard feelings. Summer assured him that she genuinely enjoyed the date and wanted to go on another but was really not feeling well. Skeptical, Robert took her home and politely walked her to the door, thinking he might never see or speak to her again. Before he could get back to his house, Summer sent him a picture of a thermometer showing a 102-degree fever. This story has become a running joke in their relationship, and they love to share the tale of their memorable first date. All of that being said, it was only fitting that Robert proposed to Summer while she had a 102-degree fever and had completely lost her voice. They are also getting married on the exact day of the their first date, just 5 years later.

Emily is not just Summer’s older sister—she’s her steady foundation, a rock of unwavering support and a safe haven for her deepest thoughts. Fierce and protective, Emily’s strength is matched only by her vulnerability. She’s the kind of person who, despite her bravery, can’t help but tear up when faced with unpredictable people on the streets, and there’s something endearing in that tenderness.

Adventurous at heart, Emily is always ready for new experiences, throwing herself into every activity with enthusiasm. Whether it's snow skiing, water skiing, softball, pickleball, or ice skating, her natural talent is nothing short of impressive, often leaving others in awe. But no skill shines brighter than her ability to be the perfect big sister—supportive, encouraging, and always there when Summer needs her most. Summer truly cannot imagine life without her, and in every moment, she’s reminded just how lucky she is to have Emily by her side.

Anna and Summer met through architecture school at Mississippi State. Their friendship was built from them taking care of each other in times where it was truly needed, from Anna healing clumsy Summer physically to Summer providing emotional support to Anna. Anna is the kind of friend that comes later in life, the one you never knew you needed but now cant imagine living without. They even moved half way across the country together, because they couldn't fathom the idea of long distance. Their many adventures—big or small—have left them with memories to last a lifetime, including the weeks they spent exploring Europe with their "Redneck Mafia". She is not only your biggest cheerleader, she is Summer's peace of mind in times of stress or panic. Anna's friendship feels like a gift, one that Summer will cherish and hold onto forever.

Anna Criswell

Maura Ann is Summer’s longest friend, all the way back to 6th grade. She has always been the most loyal friend who will never turn her back on you and will love you no matter what. Maura is the type of friend you can go months without talking to, but always pick up right where you left off. She will always make you laugh, but is also the best shoulder to cry on. She's a great listener and loves harder than anyone I have ever met. She is always there when you need her, but you have to call/text her 10 times first before she replies.

Carrie has known Summer since high school, and they met through the East Coweta High School Lacrosse Team! They were an undeniable duo then and now! Carrie is not a shoulder to cry on, but she will go key a car with you. She has seen Summer and Rob’s relationship grow from the very beginning and has loved them all the way through! She is so fun, supportive, THE BEST listener, and is never afraid to be herself!

Abby and Summer met at their first Mississippi State football game during their freshman year of college, and they’ve been inseparable ever since! Abby is a loyal and loving friend who will always be by your side, no matter what obstacles come your way. She’ll drop everything to be there for you when you’re in need, even sending surprise gifts to your doorstep when you’re feeling sick or down. No matter how many states apart you are, she’s always right there with you!

Shawn and Robert have known each other since they were 8. They have played baseball together starting from the Sharpsburg Pirates all the way through Northgate High school Varsity team. Shawn and Robert share a love for all sports, even though Shawn is an Auburn fan and Robert is a Bama fan. (Roll Tide). Shawn has not only been a best friend to Robert, but has taken Summer in as best friend too. If they are all together and you can’t get ahold of them, go to the nearest wings n things or golf course.

Sam and Robert met when Sam moved a few minutes down the road from Robert in middle school. Their friendship took off early high school from cofounding BabyStick to playing baseball together in Mexico for Baseball 4 Christ. Their friendship reached the pinnacle when they both transferred to University of Alabama where they spent countless hours playing pickleball, studying, and going to BPhills every Thursday.

Samuel Jennings

Chris and Robert became friends their freshman year at Northgate Highschool. They love all similar activities like golfing, camping, and drinking… especially cold beer at Mexican. When together, they can always find something to do, whether fishing in a drainage pipe at Sheppard Air Force Base or entertaining themselves with jokes and laughter.

Sutton was Robert’s college roommate at the University of Alabama. Sutton is the biggest Bama fan you will ever meet, next to Summer’s Nana. Sutton, Robert, and Sam were an inseparable trio for all Bama tailgates, football games, golfing, pickleball and Thursday night at BPhills. Sutton even put up with Summer breaking everything in their apartment like glass plates and doors, but don’t EVER not use a coaster around him.

Cole transferred from East Coweta High school to Northgate High school his freshman year. When Robert came into the lunch room and found the new kid, Cole, had taken his seat, Robert was pissed. Soon after they became best friends and the highschool trio of Cole, Robert, and Chris began. They were infamously known for being the second coming of the Brady-Moss connection in high school. Summer has also known Chris and Cole since middle school where they would always jokingly pick on her and make her laugh.

Denver is Summer's younger brother, the family's resident angel. He's fiercely loyal, honorable, and about as trustworthy as they come. But let me tell you, he's also the funniest person you'll ever meet! Denver lights up a room and never fails to make everyone laugh or smile. He brings so much joy where he goes; he is really just that lovable. Summer Having Denver as her little brother is an absolute honor. And honestly, Summer learns more from him than he does from her.

Hannah is Robert's little sister. Growing up, they shared countless hours roughhousing and wrestling in the yard, forging a bond of unbreakable strength. These playful moments helped shape Hannah into the tough and independent woman she is today. Their bond has survived every challenge and celebrated every joy. Robert is always proud of Hannah and is her biggest cheerleader in life.

Iris is Summer's granmommy. Her tough, independent nature has been an inspiring model for Summer in life. She is so adventurous, loving, caring, and above all, totally selfless. She is the perfect representation of what Summer considers to be a strong woman.

Jackie is Summer's Nana. Days with her are filled with stories, laughter, and the most delicious food you'll ever taste – and plenty of it! Nana has taught Summer so much about life, guiding her through both the tough times and the good. Nana is always there to save the day; she even saved Summer's life once when she was drowning in their pool as a kid! Ultimately, she is someone Summer looks up to and knows she can count on no matter what.

Bob is Summer's beloved Poppy. He's not just sweet; he's the epitome of goodness in human form. His wisdom surpasses his years, and his knack for humor never fails to lighten the mood. Bob has a special talent for bringing laughter to everyone around him, and it's impossible to find anyone with a bad word to say about him. His purity of heart and boundless love make him everything Summer admires in a person.

Summer's love for Robert is deeply rooted in her adoration for her Poppy; he's been her role model in love and life. There's no greater affection for anyone in Summer's heart than the love she holds for her Poppy.
