Our Wedding

Every great love story has a beginning. Ours just happens to have… versions. Depending on who you ask—and whether they were told the truth or lovingly lied to—we either met in a very wholesome, sweat-soaked display of athletic mentorship, or on Hinge while lying on our couches judging strangers by two photos and a prompt.

Our Story

We met at a summer lacrosse tournament. The sun was shining, whistles were blowing, and destiny was apparently wearing cleats. Both coaching summer league lacrosse, our paths crossed on the sidelines—clipboards in hand, sunscreen half-applied, united by a shared love of the game and kids who definitely weren’t listening. Sparks flew somewhere between a missed ground ball and a questionable ref call. Very organic. Very sporty. Very respectable.

Version One

Susan met Brendan on Hinge. Yes, that Hinge. And while Brendan was fully prepared to stand proudly by this modern romance like a man of the 21st century, Susan—mortified at the idea of admitting her soulmate came from an app—decided they needed a cover story. Thus, Brendan was sworn to secrecy and instructed to tell everyone they met at a lacrosse tournament. He agreed, because love means sacrifice… and memorizing a fake origin story with believable athletic details.

Version Two (The Truth)

What matters most is that somehow—through either cleats or algorithms—they found each other. And honestly, if you think about it, Hinge and lacrosse aren’t that different: both involve strategy, endurance, and wondering why you even showed up before realizing it was totally worth it.
