We are so excited to celebrate our special day with our friends and family in a country that means so much to us. For many, we know it's a big trip, and we're so grateful for your love and support. We hope you'll create unforgettable memories exploring Peru's unique culture, history and food!
1. The Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: Visit the Plaza de Armas, the San Francisco Monastery, and the Cathedral of Lima.
2. Try Peruvian Cuisine: The list of foods to try is endless but some of our favorites are ceviche, lomo saltado, causa, and aji de gallina.
3. Discover the Coast: Enjoy the beaches of Lima, such as Miraflores and Barranco. Take a stroll along the boardwalk, relax on the sand, or try surfing.
4. Museums and Art Galleries: Visit the Larco Museum to discover pre-Columbian art or the Museo de Arte de Lima for contemporary Peruvian art.
5. Nightlife: Lima offers a lively nightlife scene, especially in the neighborhoods of Miraflores and Barranco.
1. Cusco
Visit ancient Inca ruins, colonial architecture, and artisanal markets. Don't miss the opportunity to explore the Sacred Valley, including Machu Picchu. There are also many treks including the Inca Trail, Rainbow Mountain, and Salkantay Mountain.
2. Arequipa
Known as the "White City" for its colonial architecture made of volcanic stone, Arequipa, is a beautiful city surrounded by snow-capped volcanoes. Explore the Plaza de Armas, visit the Santa Catalina Monastery, or take a day trip to the Colca Canyon (also the best region to spot Andean condors).
3. Huacachina
A desert oasis located near Ica, Huacachina is a popular destination for sandboarding, dune buggying, and relaxing by the lagoon. This can also be a day trip from Lima.
4. Nazca
This coastal city is famous for the Nazca Lines, ancient geoglyphs that can only be fully appreciated from the air. Book a small plane ride over the Nazca Desert to marvel at these incredible geometric figures.
5. Puno
Situated on the shores of Lake Titicaca, Puno is a gateway to the Altiplano region. Visit the floating Uros Islands, explore the pre-Inca ruins of Sillustani, or take a boat tour to the nearby islands.
We know Machu Picchu is a top destination for many. Here are some important tips to share:
•Machu Picchu can be visited as part of a visit to Cusco by train (2- 3 hrs) or by trekking the Inca Trail (2- 4 days routes).
•Book tickets in advance as you'll need to reserve a date and time slot.
•Be mindful of the altitude. Best to plan time to acclimate.
